If your inner bully constantly says things like, I’ll ne...ver lose this weight, your subconscious brain will find ways to make sure that this belief stays true leading to self-sabotage. Your ticket OFF the dieting roller coaster is reprogramming your brain by inputting positive data. Every time you catch a negative thought, mindfully stop it and reframe it using positive words. The change in perspective it provided me during a difficult time of my life was profound. In fact, it likely made a large contribution to my journey into becoming a coach. Your level of happiness is not determined by your life circumstances. It is determined by how you REACT to those circumstances. Positi...ve people tend to look for the silver lining when something doesn't go "their" way. It IS possible to bring more happiness into your life by CHOOSING positivity. I have two principles that I've held close for most of my adult life: 1. Everything happens for a reason 2. Everything ALWAYS works out. Does that mean I never lose sight of these principles, that I never get angry, anxious, or sad? Definitely NOT! It does, however, help me put things in perspective and gets me back on track more quickly when life gets difficult. When something you perceive as a negative situation arises, STOP and ask yourself what good might possibly come of this in the future? Is this the end of the world? Bad things have happened in the past, did they not work out OK in the end? Is there something I can DO now to improve this situation? Try hard to open your mind to the possibilities that the circumstances might present instead of focusing on the negative emotions you're feeling in the moment. There are so many physical and mental health benefits of practicing positive thinking ALL the time. Make it a habit and it will become MUCH easier to put positivity into play when you need it most. Here's how to get started on the path to more positivity: 1. Become mindful of your own negative self-talk. Every time you hear the monkey voice in your head say something negative, stop and reframe that thought in a positive light. 2. Intentionally SMILE more. 3. Practice gratitude. Write down at LEAST 3 things that you're grateful for EVERY day. List more if you're in a funk. Drop me a 'YES' if this resonates with you. See more
