We will be re-opening on May 26, 2020! Our temporary hours will be Tuesdays-Saturdays from 11am-4pm. Our shop is large and allows for physical distancing. We will have sanitizer and gloves for you if you would like, and we are happy to wear a mask at any time. See you soon!

Covid-19 Update: We are missing all of our customers and friends and hope you are all well. I wanted to update everyone on what is going on at the shop! Please excuse the long post! 1. We are opening starting Tuesday April 28 for curbside and in-store distanced pick-ups of completed framing orders. Our hours will be Tuesdays thru Saturdays from 11-2pm OR pickups by appointment. If you phone during the shop hours above (starting April 28) I will be here to answer any question...s. Please KNOCK for service :) 2. Our suppliers are still closed. We are not able to get the necessary materials to frame new orders such as glass, matboard and mouldings. About 10 of the framing orders that came in March are still on backorder until the warehouses in Vancouver can re-open. Thanks to those customers for their patience. 3. We are preparing for how we can operate while applying the Social Distancing rules that will be in place for the forseeable future. There are some challenges, but we think we can safely take new orders when non-essential businesses are advised to re-open. We are also looking at ways to provide customers with accurate quotes over email using a simple form and a few photographs. 4. Our windows have brown paper on them but we are still open! The police and bylaw support businesses protecting themselves however possible right now. Just last week, two neighbouring businesses were vandalized and broken into. Please knock for pickups as the door will be locked. 5. Starting next week I will be back in the shop and replying to all the messages that have come in. Thank you all for your patience and understanding as I have not been sure week to week what message to communicate and a little overwhelmed to say the least. We cannot wait to see you all soon and will keep in touch!

Well, time to do the dreaded post. Alongside the majority of my neighboring businesses, we are closed to the public today and until further notice. We will adapt to the situation as it evolves, and truly look forward to seeing you all as soon as possible!

This beautiful painting came in NAKED so we thought we better put a frame on it. This style of frame, called a "floating frame" still allows the canvas look to be featured but brings it up a level in elegance and depth. Bring us your naked canvasses!

Couple of BIG framing jobs sent home with some happy guys recently. BTW does anyone else feel old realizing the Calgary Winter Olympics were 32 YEARS AGO????

We are excited to announce we are officially open for business in our new location! We are loving the extra space and the potential for growth it brings. We are just three doors down from our old shop at 9369 Mill Street and here to serve you starting next week Tuesday thru Saturday. Happy New Year!!!

First things first!! Merry Christmas to our wonderful customers, and thank you for another busy year! Our BIG NEWS this holiday season is that we are moving our shop between Christmas and New Years. Not to worry tho, ...you will still find us on Mill Street , just three doors down towards Victoria Avenue ( right beside The Button Box !) Its more of a" hop" than a move really! So January 2, 2020 pop in and say hi, at #1-9369 Mill St. and see the new shop!

Little known fact! The only Ginkgo tree on Mill Street (perhaps all downtown?) is planted right in front of our store :) This little leaf caught my eye this morning, a reminder of the busy fall and winter season just around the corner. They say rubbing the bark of a Ginkgo tree brings good luck, and if you catch a Ginkgo leaf as it floats to earth,,, also good luck. This tree is considered the oldest tree on earth, a living link to the age of the dinosaurs, and the only species to survive at Hiroshima. Come see our little tree and dont forget to bring that picture that needs a frame! ;) Krista

It just doesnt get anymore 50s than flying ducks..... like how this vintage 1950s Stratton Compact turned out after framing. We love helping people keep memories alive!

We work with the amazing Ken at Crystal Glass on Young Rd to source the mirrors and then we frame them. Thanks to our customers for sharing their finished project photos with us!

These paintings turned out lovely! Instead of a traditional linen liner we used a silver fillet moulding (wooden insert) against the art to give it extra depth. Once you get addicted to fillets you can never go back!

Meet Katrina, our new apprentice! Not only is she an amazing addition to the framing team here at Cornerstone, she is a 3rd Year Fine Arts student at UFV. This is Katrinas pencil drawing from 2017. She chose to float mount the piece and mat it in a combination of grey tones with a simple black frame. Welcome Katrina!
