Hi Vendors, I am on live at https://streamyard.com/uk9km8xhq5 if you want to ask questions about the show. I will be on till 2:30. -- Julia
In 2015, 2 friends, since high school, Doug and Deb, reunited and re-located to south eastern Ontario and purchased a modest 2 acre property in Bonville. An old barn, an open field and a well preserved square log cabin provided charm and challenges as it was a blank slate, until they painted a big green rainbow on the barn door and started farming in new directions. Doug is a market gardener, specializing in herbs, garlic, and 7 varieties of heirloom tomatoes. He has develop...ed a cutting edge organic soil amendment "Soil Science" that can help any gardener or farmer improve plant health and production. He uses this on their own farm and is now selling it to the public. Deb specializes more in growing flowers, annual and perennial, and making beautiful hanging baskets and patio pots.Together they operate Bonville Garden, specializing in organically grown, lovingly sown produce, herbs and flowers.Doug joins us to talk about how gardening is very therapeutic and helps with our mental (and physical) wellbeing! So proud to introduce our first guest speaker: Dr. Raji Menon Dr. Raji Menon has worn many hats over the years. She trained as a surgeon, and practised surgery for almost 30 years. During this time, she had been very involved in surgical education, and was a coordinator at the CCH for the medical education program, receiving students and residents from Ottawa and Queens Universities. Over the last 3 to 4 years, she has migrated towards Palliative care, and is now practising s...olely in this field. Dr. Menon trained as a Professional Life Coach in 2010, and has been doing one-on-one life coaching whenever she gets time. More importantly, her life coaching skills have come in very handy in her day to day work as a physician. A mother of two lovely girls, and a lifelong learner, she is always on the lookout for something else to learn: She has certificates in Interior design, Existential Well-being Counselling, and has taken numerous other courses, including Mindfulness Meditation., and Self Realization Fellowship. She will be speaking about Leadership and Communication.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION - March 12 After consulting with our vendors, due to the situation with the Novel Coronavirus, we have decided to err on the side of caution and postpone the Women's Day Show until May 31st, tentatively. We take the health of our vendors and attendees very seriously and considering the quickly evolving situation, feel that waiting a few months is the responsible thing to do for the community.... Thank you for your understanding.
