Davis Cottages on the Rideau are a fourth generation family business located in the village of Chaffeys Lock on the shores of beautiful Lake Opinicon and the Rideau Canal which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The four rental cottages are enjoyed by guests from all over North America. They come to enjoy the fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, hiking on the Cataraqui Trail, rock climbing, touring the local waterways and Locks with Rideau Tours, and visiting the Opinicon Reso...rt to enjoy their pub, restaurant, ice cream parlour and coffee shop. Boat rentals are available at Brown's Marina which is a short walk from the cottages. You can also experience golf at a variety of courses in the area, enjoy shopping and dining in Wesport, Perth, Gananoque, Merrickville and Smith Falls or head to Ottawa, our Nation’s Capital which is 90 minutes away. Guests have taken many spectacular photos of the magnificent sunrises, sunsets, and starry night skies over the lake and the call of the loons is a wonderful way to end the day on the deck with friends and families. Our cottage season opens the second Saturday in May and closes at Thanksgiving.
