Hey all walkers, joggers, runners, etc., As the weather has been warming up, it’s been great to enjoy the outdoors! (Of course by keeping 6 feet apart from each other!) Due to COVID-19, there have been many marathons, runs, walks, fundraisers postponed or cancelled. What we have seen is participants participating in their own marathon on or around the date of the events. Hello everyone! As you may have noticed, Sw Run for Shelter has been rather quiet these past 6 weeks. We have been keeping an eye on the world around us during this pandemic that we have been faced with. In order maintain and follow provincial guidelines, it is with disappointment that we announce the cancellation of this years 6th Annual Sw Run for Shelter that was scheduled to be on June 13, 2020 here in Swift Current, Sk. However, Sw Run for Shelter encourages you to run ...for you, run for your family, run for your health, run to have fun, run for the youth across Canada who struggle every day in finding stable housing, run for Dories House, and run to social distance! So we are asking walkers, joggers, runners, families, etc, to participate in their very own marathon/walk/run/jog on June 13th. We request that you document and share your day with us by posting and tagging photos and videos using #swrun2020 as well as sharing to our Facebook Page @Dorieshouse (Dories House - Southwest Youth Emergency Shelter) and Twitter @SouthwestYES. Wanting to do more for Sw Run for Shelter? Feel free to collect pledges for Dories House (all pledges collected over $20 will receive a tax receipt). All funds raised will continue to go towards the re-opening of Dories House. Included in our announcement is a map of the routes (2K, 5K, 10K, 16K) as well as the 2020 Sw Run for Shelter Pledge Form.
