Nothing is more empowering for a female than having self confidence. Being proud of the woman you see in the mirror every morning is a feat many try hard to attain but few experience. But as we know with consistent work that we put into ourselves and our own journey, it will pay off in the long run. Women can be strong and beautiful too, toned muscles aren't just for men. Sometimes you have to put your hair up, tighten your pony tail and GET SH** DONE. Keep your head up and know that every workout, every mindful meal, every second of self care, are all rising your vibrations to your ultimate healthiest and happiest self. As my due date nears, I have been thinking about how I can prepare my mind and body for what's coming ahead. Now don’t get me wrong, I have been preparing my whole pregnancy, especially making sure my body is balanced and functioning at its most optimal level. But with there only being a few weeks left, its crunch time (and I don’t mean doing crunches ;)) There are so many unknown things that lead up to the arrival of a baby but being prepared and OPEN minded is all you can b...e. Here are a few things I found helpful to focus on: PRACTICE CORE BREATH This is not only a technique that strengthens your core and pelvic floor but also allows you to take some time and focus on deep breathing and posture. It helps with keeping your core strong during pregnancy, pelvic floor( prevent incontinence) and preventing/ treating diastasis recti(mommy tummy). Separation is normal but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. FOCUS ON ELIMINATING FEAR WITH POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS There are many fears that come with bringing a child into the world. Not only your own fears, but fears or experiences other mothers have had and feel they need to tell you. The key is to acknowledge them and make a plan to eliminate or solve the issue. This can be done with positive affirmations like " my baby will come into this world healthy", "my home is ready and safe for a baby", "my body is strong and capable." As a pre and post natal fitness specialist i know the importance of preparing yourself for motherhood. I like to compare it to running a marathon in how it taxes the body in many different ways. The difference? We train for marathons. Should we be training and preparing for childbirth? We need to start focusing on physical and mental well being instead of appearance.

I will miss working out outdoors as the weather starts to get cooler. I have really enjoyed my morning walks and meditation with deepak chopra throughout my pregnancy. I plan to continue working out and doing full-body circuits until I deliver! Do you struggle with finding time in your busy day for meal planning and prepping? We are all busy, and if you are like myself you don't want to spend hours in the kitchen making meals for yourself or your family. By planning and prepping easy to make nutritious meals ahead of time, you are saving yourself tons of time. Here are some suggestions of things to plan into your daily routine ... Make a trip to the Grocery Store or Farmers Market: Aim to go to the grocery store once a week! Eating healthy starts in the kitchen. Look for produce that is seasonal and locally grown. The shorter distance the food has travelled, the longer it has stayed on the vine and the more nutrients it will have acquired. Make out a list before you go and stick to it in order to avoid temptations! Plan for Breakfast: Choose one or two different healthy options in the morning such as oatmeal, protein smoothie, eggs, plain yogurt with granolaetc Come up with one easy option, and an easy option that is already prepared for really busy days! Plan for Lunch: Look for healthy protein choices for lunch. ( baked chicken, tuna, or eggs). Protein will help keep you feeling full and will decrease your temptation to eat unhealthy snacks/ Chop veggies and pre-portion out as much as you can ahead of time! Plan for Dinner: Make extra portions, so you have leftovers for lunch the next couple of days. Star the days that are going to be extremely busy and you will need an easy option! Plan for Snacks: Decide on at least 2-3 protein packed snacks that are easy to have around during the day! Try to make one snack a fruit, and one snack include a vegetable. Pre-portion items such as nuts and whole grain crackers to make them easy to grab and also you will be more likely to stick to the correct portion if you are busy working or on the go!
