July Update: Good day travellers, we sure do miss you! Unfortunately, due to the continued travel restrictions the Federal government has in place, our office remains closed. However, staff is monitoring files and checking messages regularly. Appointments for any essential travel can still... be arranged just call and leave us a voice mail or drop us an email and we’ll arrange a time meet with you. We hope to be back in the office, even if only on a part-time basis, soon but until then we will continue to monitor all things travel related. We have received a few inquiries regarding winter travel and resort reopenings. Most southern resorts that have resumed operations or are planning to resume in the near future are primarily focusing on local clientele and have a number of new procedures in place including , but not limited to, COVID testing upon arrival, room quarantine for up to 8hrs or until the test results are completed. Also, many services at the resorts are either not running or have been modified. Canadian tour companies that fly south are not in a position to take travellers outside of the country until the travel restrictions are lifted. Once we know more we will be sure to advise you all, until that time please be well and stay healthy! We look forward to serving you as soon as it’s possible to do so!

SUNWING: UPDATE Sunwing made the decision yesterday afternoon to suspend all southbound flights between March 17- April 9. Northbound flights will remain in operation until all travellers are brought back home. If you were set to travel with Sunwing during this period they are offering a full refund in the original method of payment or a future travel credit plus an additional $100 per person to be used towards a future booking . Travel must commence by March 31, 2021 and ...to redeem the additional $100 per person travel credit bookings must be made at least 30 days prior to departure. For Travel April 10- April 30: Customers may cancel and receive a future travel credit in the value of the original package price paid. The travel credit can be redeemed against future travel for departures upt and including March 31, 2021. Not only has the Covid-19 pandemic put a temporary hold on travel sales, it is impacting many local businesse, charities and community initiatives. Normally aro...und this time of year we all open our doors to girl guide smiles & cookies but this year our local girl guides cannot sell their cookies door to door. Great news though, you can still show your support and indulge in their sweet treats by visiting your local Independent grocery store as they have answered the call and are helping to get the cookies out. They are $5.00 a box with all proceeds going directly to Girl Guides of Canada. UPDATE: TRANSAT In light of the Federal Government issuing this advisory yesterday,Transat will do their best to accommodate change/postponement requests for travel today, Saturday March 14 and Sunday March 15. Going forward they will therefore accept all such requests up to the day before travel on individual bookings (instead of 3 days before travel as announced yesterday). They are doing this to accommodate pax who no longer want to travel do to the Government advisory. ... Please bear in mind that all other conditions announced yesterday for flexibility remain the same (change date or credit on file for travel to be completed be Dec 31, 2020).

UPDATE: SUNWING POLICY: For bookings made prior to March 4th, 2020 Sunwing is offering a flexible change policy for customers who booked prior to March 4th, 2020 and did not purchase travel insurance or Sunwings Worry Free Cancellation waiver. Customers who had booked travel with a departure date between March 14th and April 30th may cancel and receive a future travel voucher in the value of the original package price paid. All cancellations are subject to an administration ...fee of $100 per person which will be collected at time of cancellation. This voucher can be redeemed against future travel for departures up to and including March 31st, 2021. When you think of Venice, Italy you can’t help but think about love, after all it does exude romance with its many Italian wines, bistros, string quartets and of course those infamous gondolas. Speaking of which, do you know why traditional Venetian gondolas are black? .. It’s to limit displays of wealth.... The famous black gondolas that navigate the canals of Venice aren’t painted black only for the sake of aesthetics, though they do look rather sleek. Long ago, gondolas were elaborately decorated and painted in various colors, even gold. As they were once the transport for nobility, the luxurious and sometimes garish display of wealth isn’t any different than the rich flashing their Lamborghini or yacht in this day and age. But this display of wealth came to an end in 1609, when the Senate issued a decree limiting the pomp and circumstance by requiring all gondolas to be painted black. If your travels has you going to any one of the above high-risk areas over the next couple of months there are temporary policies in place to help you reschedule or cancel your vacation plans without penalties. Most cruise companies are permitting passengers who were set to sail from mid- March through to May 31, regardless of the sailing destination, to cancel their cruise and receive a future cruise credit in the amount paid. Each company has slightly different policies and deadlines so its best to speak to us directly should you wish to amend your plans. Passengers who choose to keep their cruise plans in place during this time may benefit from extra onboard perks. If you are set to travel to a local that is not currently a high-risk area or you are scheduled to travel later in the year and you wish to change or cancel your vacation plans, regular cancellation policies/penalties are in still place.
