Yesterday Mom and I went on an adventure to New Waterford to a place called headquarters. I met lots of Mom’s work friends and this guy here, his name is Dave. ...Today is a big day for him because it’s Election Day in Cape Breton Centre. My Mom says he was a great MLA and even when he wasn’t, he kept doing MLA things because he loves his community. But the most important thing? He’s just a good, kind human. And I believe it! He let me pull the glasses right off his face (one of my favourite pastimes) AND there were timbits at headquarters. That’s enough to get my vote. Please don’t forget to get out to the polls today if you live in Cape Breton Centre!

It’s hard to believe that Election Day is just around the corner. Through rain and snow (lots of snow), this has been an incredible and humbling experience. Having a chance to listen to your concerns has prepared me to once again be the MLA for the people of Cape Breton Centre. Shirley and I voted early this morning - and you can too! The returning office is located at 3461 Plummer Avenue, and is open until 6PM tonight. It’s also open from 9AM-6PM on Monday. Thank you to everyone for your unconditional support - it means the world to me and my family.

I'm proud of what I was able to accomplish during my two years in office - and given the opportunity, I will continue to work for the good of our community as the MLA for Cape Breton Centre.

I was pleased to bring Premier Stephen McNeil to meet with community volunteers and organizers of the HAWKS DREAM FIELD project - a project that has been a priority of mine for some time. The successful revitalization of the old ball field in Dominion will see the grounds transform into a modern, fully-accessible and entirely inclusive recreation facility for people of all ages, abilities and economic backgrounds. If elected, I'm committed to working with all levels of government in making sure this concept becomes a reality for our communities.

I've dedicated my life and career to our community and I'm ready once again to be the MLA for the people of Cape Breton Centre.

When making your choice in this by election please evaluate what each candidate has done to promote stability, growth and community involvement. While in office from 2015-2017, I'm proud to have secured: Over $1.2 million in social housing renovations Over $200,000 in funding for the Grand Lake Road Multi Use Trail $40,000 each toward the purchase of two new zamboni’s for the New Waterford District Community Centre and the Dominion District Community Centre... Over $35,000 for the New Waterford, New Victoria, Scotchtown and Grand Lake Road Volunteer Fire Departments $33,000 for field upgrades for the New Waterford Minor Baseball Association $15,000 for the Lingan Heritage Society $14,500 in renovations for the New Waterford and District Community Centre $8,900 for the Dominion Italian Community Club $4,000 for the New Waterford Dog Park This Totals $1.9 million in provincial funding for Cape Breton Centre in just 20 months. While not in office from 2017-2020, I also worked hard with the community and the provincial government to secure government investments that include: Over $240 million for a new Collaborative Care Health Centre, a new Breton Education Centre, and a new 60-bed long-term care facility. $4.5 million to re-position our turf field, tennis court, soccer field and basketball court $110,000 toward New Waterford’s new state-of-the-art skateboard park And I'm not done yet. On March 10th, I hope you will continue to put your faith in me as the MLA for Cape Breton Centre.

Recently, I was pleased to bring Premier Stephen McNeil to Breton Education Centre to be interviewed by Adam MacLean, a grade 11 student from New Waterford who is also one of Cape Breton's up and coming young entrepreneurs. In addition to being a full time high school student and working in multi-media productions, Adam has also started his own radio station: 107.7 The Pop. The All Candidates' Debate is taking place tomorrow evening at Breton Education Centre in the AV Room. The debate will begin at 7:00pm. This is my opportunity to tell you why I'm the best candidate to represent the constituents of Cape Breton Centre. Hope to see you there!

One of the plans I'm most passionate about is improving health services for Cape Breton families - with the addition of a state-of-the-art collaborative care centre.

I'm so grateful for the dedicated and united group of volunteers that have been working tirelessly in an effort to better our communities. Our team is out in full force today, meeting with - and listening to residents from one end of the riding to the other.
