PSA! I don’t know who makes these images, but I see them often and they are so true. I find the majority of the tying and guiding community is made of one or two man operations, grinding things out via word of mouth or social media - with next to no marketing budget and very thin margins. For most, that’s completely okay! I know I’m not looking to retire via tying flies - but a little support can go a long way to help someone reach their small business goals. Times are tough,... but you can still contribute to that tyer or that guide you know in your local community in ways that doesn’t cost any money at all! Help spread the word in 2021 and I’m certain this community will get even stronger! And PLEASE...consider buying local, quality flies from a fly shop or online store before buying a plastic package of flies from the local big box. What do you think? Semperfli just released a ton of incredible Perdigon body wraps and I couldn’t help but feel as though this mottled black+silver would be dynamite on a Stillwater Chironomid pattern. The texture and depth on these things is off the charts! the Chironie is as basic as it gets so not to distract from the body but I feel these would need a rusty collar or something as an added feature.
