It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Dr. Janice Acoose. FNUniv Saskatoon Campus was privileged and honored to have such a tenacious and passionate woman who cared so deeply for her students, she wanted nothing more than to see them succeed. Janice was an author, newspaper columnist, filmmaker, Indigenous language advocate, and professor of Indigenous and English literature at the First Nations University of Canada in Saskatchewan. Her cultural roots stem from the Zagine Anishinabek (Saulteaux) First Nation and the Ninankawe Marival Metis. FNUniv Saskatoon Campus would like to extend condolences to her family, friends, and the many students who mourn the loss of such an amazing woman.
