Today we are continuing our partnership with Ministry of Indigenous Affairs to promote #TreatiesRecognitionWeek in Ontario to help our community to learn about the importance of treaties and how they continue to shape the province today. At #FortHenry, we acknowledge that the land we are on is in the area of the Crawford Purchases and wish to acknowledge the long history of First Nations and the Métis in what is now Ontario and show respect to them. We also wish to recognize... the neighbouring communities of the Mohawks of Tyendinaga and the Alderville First Nation. The Mohawks of Tyendinaga fought alongside the British Army in 1837 and are honoured on the Fort Henry Guard Regimental Colours. Learn more here Ontario.ca/treaties | #TreatyON
