Congrats to Christopher and Jennifer, who made the memory of a lifetime on the boardwalks of FortWhyte! When Chris decided to propose, he knew he wanted it to be somewhere that was close to both of their hearts. So earlier this week he inscribed Jennifer's name on a boardwalk plaque, permanently marking a place to call their own for years to come. Chris led Jennifer to her name along the water, dropped to one knee, and she said yes! Thank you, Jennifer and Chris, for let...ting us be part of your special day! If you're interested in inscribing your name along the water, visit fortwhyte.org/in-memoriam

The season of migration has taken flight. We're already halfway through Sunset Goose Flights, and we are in absolute awe of its ability to connect us to one another. Each night as we feel the warm glow of the setting sun and listen to the growing echo of geese calling out, we share a moment of pure joy. Even with the distance between us, we still find ways to be brought together. And now, we're offering drive up spots for those looking to create a little extra space from ot...her guests. Pack yourself a warm drink, park along Sam Fabro Way, and take in the show from the comfort of your car. Tickets at fortwhyte.org/sunset-goose-flights Special thanks to Cambrian Credit Union for sponsoring our migration season. Emily Klekta

Some sunny news on a cloudy day. The totals are in, and our first ever Harvest at Home was an absolute success. Thanks to your support, we raised over $21,000 for environmental education and immersive outdoor experiences for Manitoba youth. We are overwhelmed with gratitude to all those who purchased a meal kit, donated an auction prize, and supported us as we adapted to new challenges. Special thanks goes to our sponsors who believed in this virtual interpretation of our a...nnual Harvest Supper, including Auto Show Sales & Finance. There's nothing quite like a lakeside sunset. It's that perfect time of year when the leaves on the trees match the sky each evening. As the sun lowers behind the lake, the yellows and oranges around us glow in the golden light. Top it off with the geese flying in for migration, and you're in for a magical night. SUNSET GOOSE FLIGHTS... Every day at sunset Free for members, just $5 for non-members Registration is required. Save your spot at fortwhyte.org/event/sunset-goose-flights/

Now more than ever, outdoor learning needs to play a significant role in every child’s education. We know that this school year some parents made the decision to teach their children at home. With many unknowns, there is one thing that remains true nature is important to every child's health and development. According to the The Lawson Foundation, promoting opportunities for kids to be outside will have significant and immediate positive impacts for both public healt...h COVID-19 control measures and critical child development and learning. That's why we developed the Student Forest Immersion program, which uses the Manitoba school curriculum to inform our outdoor immersive learning. STUDENT FOREST IMMERSION Grades k-6 Once a week for six weeks Session 1 starts September 24 Session 2 starts November 5 Register for Student Forest Immersion at fortwhyte.org/student-forest-immersion
