With so much time staying home these last few months, my creative juices have started flowing again and I launched a small jewellery brand! Jewellery is where I started my entrepreneurial journey way back in high-school as I handmade earrings at home in my dad's basement workshop. When I started selling it to friends and in local shops in Saskatoon, I saw the fun and possibilities of making stuff and selling it.... While my main business is now as a Business Coach, I love having a creative side hustle where I can work with colours, patterns and shapes and make fun videos to promote it. I'm just working on assembling these beauties! Creative people will continue to create and thrive. That's what we do best! Here's an update from my friend Mandy of Mandala Design. She's got a great boutique on St. Clair West in Toronto and an online shop. In this post she shares why she's not opening her store just yet, and what will be coming in the future. ... Half of my own closet is Mandala Design. Mandy makes wearable and super cute clothes for everyday life. They fit. They move with you. They last forever. And yes, most of them have pockets! This line was a big part of the success FC enjoyed for decades and I invite you to check it out and continue to support Canadian design. It's been a wonderful 26 years in the fashion industry and it's time for me to move on to new adventures. Fresh Collective stores are permanently closed. I'm so grateful for all the wonderful people who made this journey of learning and growth possible - the fabulous staff members over all these years, the talented designers, the awesome customers and all the other community members who participated in so many ways. ... The best part was always helping women feel their best by expressing their style. I cherish the amazing memories of those connections made. In the stores, we loved the times we got hugs from customers because they felt so awesome after we helped them pick the perfect outfits. We helped women love their bodies and themselves more. That's what always made the hard work worth it. It's always been so much more than just selling dresses. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone for everything.
