We are pleased to announce that allie mcdonald is returning this week in place of the Fall Community Band, who unfortunately can't perform this week due to restrictions. We loved allie's performance on our first night, and we're so glad she's coming back on Saturday!

This used to be Steveston’s first bank but is now the Steveston Museum and Post Office. In the early days, the post office was essential to stay in contact with... the outside world. In early Steveston, there were no telephones, no radio, no TV, and definitely no internet. Christmas was an important time for writing letters and cards to catch up friends and family on what had happened during the year. Photo: The Northern Bank in Steveston c. 1910s. This photo is featured in the Light up the Village Tour - where we mix heritage with beautiful illuminations for a self-guided evening tour of Steveston. But now is the time for us to stay local and support local business with just your immediate household or bubble. Let's each do our part now, so we can explore BC again soon. We're all in this together.

Songs in the Snow is glad to welcome the J.N. Burnett Senior Concert Band to our online event, tonight from 4-6pm. The J.N. Burnett Music Program is composed of creative and enthusiastic students committed to their musical learning journeys, as well as helping one another grow as both artists and individuals. With their hard work and positive attitudes, Burnett’s music students have demonstrated their perseverance in overcoming these unprecedented times and smaller band siz...es to pursue their musical passions with their peers. Their performances offer a glimpse into the unforgettable band adventures students can experience during their high school career in music programs like the one offered at Burnett Secondary. Many thanks to the BC Arts Council, Province of BC, G&F Financial West Richmond, and Steveston Bakery for their assistance putting on Songs in the Snow.

Last chance to get your tickets for tonight and hear amazing musicians like allie mcdonald! allie mcdonald is an up-and-coming, classically trained artist. Using her unique and recognizable voice, as well as the magnificence of the piano she frequents, she’s released albums Addicted (2016), the holiday album "Christmas Wishes (2018) and Hold Tight (2020). allie has spent her life writing songs that evoke the same kind of emotions out of her listeners as she feels when sh...e’s writing them whether it's the good, bad, or ugly. allie’s diverse sources of inspiration and music styles contribute to her versatility as a performer and a songwriter. She has always been incredibly passionate in all that she does, and wants to spend the rest of her life learning more instruments, and continuing to write the often heartbreaking music she loves. Many thanks to the BC Arts Council, Province of BC, G&F Financial, and Steveston Bakery for their assistance putting on Songs in the Snow.

If you’re familiar with Songs in the Snow, you’ll know we usually have a caricature artist drawing caricatures for anyone who attends. And we still do! Katie Green is Steveston based Caricature Artist and Illustrator. She'll be drawing festive virtual Caricatures live before your eyes! The drawings will be available for download after the event. Although some nights' craft kits and cookies are sold out, you can still get your ticket to attend the event. Our gratitude to the BC Arts Council, the Province of British Columbia, G&F Financial, and Steveston Bakery for helping us bring Songs in the Snow to you.
