Happy Valentine’s Day to my one and only, Zakiya. Where would you be if it wasn’t for trampoline... After the 2012 Olympics, Rosannagh MacLennan invited me to a RightToPlay event in Toronto. She had started working with them as an athlete ambassador and thought this would be a good chance for me to network. I put on some nice clothes and took the subway downtown, but when I got off it was pouring rain! I ran to the event and arrived soaking wet. I called Rosie and told he...r I looked ridiculous and wasn’t coming up, but she said that’s dumb, just wait to dry off in the air conditioning downstairs, it’s dark up here, no one will notice. So I did, and I went up and that’s when she introduced me to Zakiya who was working with RTP. Instead of networking, we spent the whole night chatting to each other and exchanged contact information. We wouldn’t start officially dating for another year, but that’s where it all began. Thanks for the pep-talk Rosie! I owe you one! See more
18.8 DD World Record routine from the 2010 World Cup in Switzerland.
Trampoline videos were always a huge source of inspiration for me. As a young athlete, I watched my coaches homemade inspiration video countless times. One of the most influential routines was done by Igor Gelimbatovsky from Ukraine He performed a 17.0 DD routine (17.6 by the current rules) and set the world difficulty record in 1986. When I saw this routine, I knew it was a record I wanted to pursue. At the 2007 World Cup in Lake Placid I competed a routine worth 17.5 (17.9 by the current rules), and improved on that record with an 18.8 routine at a 2010 World Cup in Switzerland. I have held the DD record for the past 14 years. My hope is that it will last as long as Igor’s 21-year-long record, but I am also very excited to see who will break the record next!
Just received my Isophit MSK! It’s the perfect edition to my home gym set-up! Thanks @isophit_inventor for the new piece of equipment! I’m excited to get started #isophitmsk Isophit Strength Zone
I was 12 years old when walked into @skyriderstrampolineplace for the first time. I saw athletes jumping incredibly high and doing skills I’d never even imagined. I was amazed! I was inspired! And I wanted to be just like them. Matt Turgeon was one of these athletes and he had done the hardest routine in the world. It was worth 18.0 and his name was on top of the Skyriders DD wall. From that day on, it was my goal to beat that record! Matt was a great mentor and pushed me to ...try bigger skills and harder routines. It took me 6 years to achieve my goal, and when I was 18 I completed a routine worth 18.2 in training. A few months later I did a routine worth 18.5, and a year after that 20.6. These routines are some of the accomplishments I am most proud of, and I’m excited to see who will challenge those records next! #trampoline #athlete #canada 1 Matt’s 18.0 DD 2 18.2 DD 3 18.5 DD 4 20.6 DD Thanks for the edits @rozbern_kevin!

Ottawa, ON (October 18, 2019) The gymnastics community is mourning the loss of one of our own. Tamara O’Brien (22), a silver-medallist at the 2017 World Games in double mini-trampoline, and a member of our national team for over 10 years, passed away on Tuesday, October 15th in Vancouver, BC after a two-year battle with cancer. Tamara was such a bright light in our community and she will be sorely missed, said Ian Moss, CEO of Gymnastics Canada. We extend our sincerest c...ondolences to her family and friends, her coach Curt de Wolff, and her club Shasta Trampoline, and everyone that she touched during her life. She was an exceptional athlete, and an exceptional person, and was taken from us far too soon. O’Brien started in artistic gymnastics at the age of 2, and moved over to trampoline at 9, making the national team at the age of 11. Like many trampoline athletes, O’Brien competed in trampoline, double mini-trampoline, and tumbling for many years, capturing medals in all, before deciding to really specialize in double mini, or DMT, in 2014. She became a World Team DMT Champion in 2015, and in 2017, capped off an incredible year by winning a silver medal at the World Games. She was diagnosed with Stage 3 Melanoma shortly afterwards, forcing her to retire from competitive gymnastics. In November 2018, thanks to the Forward Foundation, a charitable organization whose mission is to: provide young adults who are terminally ill with meaningful end-of-life experiences, Tamara was able to travel to the Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships in St. Petersburg, RUS to cheer on her teammates. The team welcomed her by wearing We Jump for Tamara t-shirts, and also elected her as the team’s Opening Ceremonies flag bearer. Rosie MacLennan would also award her with one of the bronze medals that the team won in competition. In June 2019, Tamara learnt that the cancer had spread to her brain, and throughout her body, and in September learnt that the disease had progressed significantly. She passed away peacefully this past Tuesday. Just days before she passed, CBC Docs released this video featuring Tamara it tells her story beautifully and is a true testament to her strength and what made her so unforgettable. https://youtu.be/czlMz5IhUww Rest in Peace Tamara, we’ll miss you, but we will never, ever forget you. You truly did live each day with meaning and we will all work to do the same in your honour.
I’ve been to lazy to do anything worth posting in training lately, so here’s a crash from the World Cup in Spain I was so mad at that trampoline #trampoline #athlete #canada
Happy Thanksgiving!
Pumped to be back home with these two after a couple weeks competing overseas #trampoline #athlete #canada
Feels great to back on the podium! at the World Cup in Valladolid, Spain with synchro partner Jérémy Chartier #trampoline #athlete #canada
What a great way to end the trip! Placed in the synchronized competition with #JeremyChartier Video to come... #trampoline #athlete #canada
First day of training is always a little scary @jeremy_chartier @keegansoehn Made it to Valladolid for the second Word Cup #trampoline #athlete #canada
Had a great time training and exploring in Barcelona #trampoline #athlete #canada
When you train in Spain #trampoline #athlete #canada
Had a decent compulsory, but repeating a skill won’t help your score Hipped the 4th skill of my optional and had to change the position from pike to tuck at the last second. Better luck next time! And good luck to all the athletes who qualified for the finals!! Compulsory from the World Cup in Khabarovsk, Russia #trampoline #athlete #canada
Optional from the World Cup in Khabarovsk, Russia
It’s nice to have a stretching buddy #trampoline #athlete #canada
Getting ready to do some of this in Russia next week. Leaving for the World Cup in Khabarovsk on Sunday! #trampoline #athlete #canada
Haven’t done this one in a while... #quad #trampoline #athlete #canada @skyriderstrampolineplace @rosiemaclennan

#TBT DON’T do this combination. It WILL make your program manager mad at you. But you might win $250 in a stupid bet #trampoline #athlete #canada
Back at it after a couple tough competitions. Time to refocus and start preparing for the next one @skyriderstrampolineplace #trampoline #athlete #canada

Tuck, toes and twists... Just a bunch of garbage tricks #trampoline #athlete #canada
I’ve graduated from SuperTramp to regular tramp! Started doing compulsory routines on the string bed last week. Still jumping low, but I don’t need a tape job for stability anymore Ankle is feeling better and better every day #trampoline #athlete #canada #sprainedankle
National Team training camp at the INSQ. Working on transitions from one skill to the next. Still not % confident with my ankle. Working on eliminating unnecessary pike downs and a full push through the bed for stronger take offs #trampoline #athlete #canada
Very happy to be named to Canada’s trampoline team for #lima2019 alongside @jeremy_chartier @sarah_milette and @soph_methot #teamcanada #trampoline #panamgames2019
Supertramp is one of the best training tools @skyriderstrampolineplace has to offer. It’s much softer than a string or euro bed and I can start swinging optional routines just weeks after recovering from a sprained ankle #trampoline #athlete #canada
Had a great time sharing stories of goal setting and resilience on the road to the Olympic Games with students from Hillfield Strathallan College on behalf of Head to Head #trampoline #athlete #canada #goals #resilience #motivation
Sometimes you have to get creative when you’re back to the basics! filmed by @rachael_tam inspired by @charlottedrury #trampoline #athlete #canada
Had one more of these saved up. Guess I’d better start filming some new stuff soon! Any suggestions?? #trampoline #athlete #canada
What’s the second best thing about recovering from a sprained ankle? Dog walks
Don’t get to excited, it’s just a bunch a singles. But it’s one of the first steps to getting back on the trampoline after 6 weeks off for a sprained ankle... And a little fun stuff at the end to celebrate #trampoline #athlete #canada
See if you can spot where it all went wrong Four weeks off with a sprained ankle, two more weeks until I’m back on tramp#trampoline #athlete #canada
Good luck to everyone competing at Elite Canada this weekend! #trampoline #athlete #canada
Setting up this camera angle may or may not have had something to do with how I sprained my ankle... #trampoline #athlete #canada
Thanks for the nomination @angeltramp95 Here is my #showyourtriples post with a guest appearance from @samanthasendel Show me your triples Sammy!! I also nominate @jeremy_chartier @jakecranham and @keegansohen Show me your triples from the World Cup this weekend Good luck!! #trampoline #athlete #canada
Got a little sprained ankle last Sunday and I’ve got to take a few weeks off to recover. So in the mean time, I’ll be posting old videos of big tricks. Starting off with Miller ++ Enjoy! #trampoline #athlete #canada
Just moving through the air #trampoline #athlete #canada @skyriderstrampolineplace
Hey Joining All Movement Travis Wong and @thesamparham Thanks a lot for featuring me in your weekly JAM breakdown. I noticed you had some trouble calling out the skills I performed. I’ve reposted the video in slow-mo and written them up in trampoline terminology below, with the number of flips and twists for each. Let me know if you need any help calling out tramp tricks in the future! Cheers! Flifus cruise duck-under (2 flips with a full twist) Trifus ball-out to stomac...h (3 flips with a half twist) Full cruise duck-under cody (1 flips with 1 twists) Double porpoise (2 flips) Cradle double back to back (2 flips with a half twist) Full up barani ball-out (1 flips with 1 twists) Half full to back (2 flips with 1 twists) 1 twisting 1 back pull-over (1 flips with 1 twists) Randi ball-out (1 flips with 2 twists) Ps. Slowly getting back into competition mode The World Cup in Belarus is just one month away #trampoline #athlete #canada @skyriderstrampolineplace
Hmm... What kind of cool combos can I do with this??... #trampoline #athlete #canada #skyriders
Found an old one but a good one. Who remembers the 2011 World Championships in Birmingham GBR?? Competing a last minute routine after tearing the plantar fascia in my right foot 1 month earlier. Had been in an air cast for 3 weeks and spent a lot of time thinking about the perfect performance. Didn’t have a lot of time to train for it, but still managed a 9th place and an Olympic qualification #trampoline #athlete #canada @skyriderstrampolineplace
Testing out some new routines. Can never seem to settle on an order. This ones my new favourite! @skyriderstrampolineplace #trampoline #athlete #canadian #olympian #olympics #sport #canada #jump

Hey everyone! I posted my 2019 Stunt demo reel earlier but the audio didn’t work, so here’s the YouTube link... Enjoy! https://youtu.be/bQrEn8l2E-c
I have been a trampoline athlete for the past 22 years. I am passionate about training and competing and have always strived to perform my best. In addition to my trampoline career, I would like to pursue stunt work in film and television. This is my 2019 stunt demo reel. As of now, I’m predominantly an acrobat, but have started incorporating boxing into my regular training, with plans to add more martial arts in the future. Any hints or tips from stunt performers out there would be greatly appreciated. Enjoy! #trampoline #stunts
Didn’t have the best competition this time around. Completed 2 shaky routines and ended up in 31st. Better luck next time! #trampoline #worldcup #baku
