Opportunity does not ever mean having a job. I was listening to a talk by @realshaneperry and he said... The word opportunity is one of the misused words in North America. Because a real opportunity provides a chance at unlimited freedom & unlimited income... If you only have a job but WANT freedom & unlimited income... it’s time to do some soul searching.

Every job I've ever had no longer exists. My first job was in a butcher shop called "Select Meats". Then I worked in a factory... W.C. Woods. ... When I left the factory people thought I was crazy leaving a good-paying job with benefits for a minimum wage position with no benefits. At the time it was not about the money. It was about my happiness. I hated the job & understood that I was going to spend a big portion of my life working so I better find something that makes me happy. Rogers Video was a HUGE pay cut but I enjoyed it a lot more. Unfortunately, you can not pay your bills with just a smile. That lead to where I am today. I am an entrepreneur. I have not had a job or boss since July 2000. The greatest decision I ever made was to ignore anyone that did not support my choices. I only listened to people who I admired or had the type of life/career I wanted. Where would I be today if I listened to them? It is scary to think about. And that is why I am grateful.

40 sucks. Just because you’re 40 or older does not mean your life has to suck. I see it everyday and I wanna offer a little piece of advice, if you don’t mind. ... From all the books I’ve been reading recently they all say the same thing have a vision for the future. Vision gives you significance. Vision gives you meaning. Vision brings your world into focus. Vision brings order to chaos. I have been in business for 20 years. How we serve families changed in 2020. Today I am more excited about the future than I have been in 20 years. This pandemic has created a lot of chaos but every crisis creates opportunity. I believe we are entering North America 2.0. The world is changing every day. Many businesses will fail, unfortunately. However new entrepreneurs will rise! New business will be created out of the need to serve in the new world. Make the next 40 years your best ever!

What does TGIF mean to you? Let me know in the comments. When I was an employee I would say every week...Thank God it’s Friday. ... I got off every Friday at 12pm. Then I would have fun & enjoy life. But... how sad is that. I was miserable 5 out of 7 days a week. Living for the weekend. It was not how I wanted to live my life. Fast forward to today. I am an entrepreneur. I wake up every morning with anticipation. I love what I do. I love making a difference. I love to have purpose in my life. When I put a fridge in a box & moved it down the line I was bored & always annoyed. When I set up a college/university fund for a client or give them a plan for their future I feel like I made a difference. Today TGIF means to me... THANK GOD I’M FREE.

The greatest athletes of our time & the business moguls you admire all do this one thing. Each & everyone is a self improvement junkie. I have personally been on a mission to discover what separates the greats from the average & ordinary. If I was to summarize what I learned so far it is this... The greats have a burning desire to become great at what they do. And they are relentless in that pursuit. They study greatness to become great. The average think they are already good enough. They think they already know enough. That’s the difference. Do you want an edge? Become Great. Become a SELF IMPROVEMENT JUNKIE.
