During these trying times of Covid -19 Pandemic, the Board of Directors of Proverbs Heritage Organization and friends of the John Freeman Walls Historic Site and Underground Railroad Museum, would like to sincerely thank the Paradise Bingo Center and Charitable Gaming Windsor for distributing Charity Bingo Funds to Proverbs in recognition of the good work that it does, to help promote a healthy community. In 2021 the Underground Railroad Property that the Historic Site an...d Historic Cemetery occupies is celebrating its 175th year of settlement by freedom seekers from enslavement. The Underground Railroad was the first great freedom movement in the Americas and the first time that good people Black and White and of different races and faiths worked together in harmony for freedom and for justice. Because of the sharing of Bingo Funds, Proverbs has been helped to weather the negative financial effects of this Pandemic. Our capable volunteers serve to promote, Education, Religion, and to be of benefit to the Community through creative and exciting ways. Therefore capable volunteers are honoured to announce the creation of unique on line and classroom learning materials for schools and home schoolers. The curriculum places emphasis on Constructivism and Engaging social and emotional learning. We thank: Professor Dr. Paul Vermette, Dr. Charles Gonzalez, Dr. Bryan Walls, Masters in Education teachers, Maranda Guerriero, Cindy Kline, Brittany Miles, and award winning photographic artist Anna Davis Walls (holding the Guides Book cover image, attached.) These Educators and artists, volunteered their time and knowledge to Proverbs Heritage Organization to create the sixty three page Teachers Guide to Somewhere. The Printing of the Guide is being assisted through Bingo Funds received from the Paradise Gaming Association. If interested in more information about this Educational Resource for your school, please contact Proverbs number 519-727-6555 or email: [email protected]. Dr. Bryan Walls C.M. O.Ont. D.D.S. Let's Use This Ugly Time to Share The Beauty of What Unity Can Accomplish... The John & Jane Story, My Family Story, A True Story of Love & Respect that was Ahead of it's Time... The John Freeman Walls Historic Site and Underground Railroad Museum in Puce Ontario Canada, is the accumulated succeess, bravery and preservence of my ancestors John (a black slave) and Jane Freeman Walls (a white slave owners daughter) who fell in love in the Rockingham County North Carolina and i...n 1846 traveled along the Underground Railroad to the land which is now the site of our museum. Their graves, orignal log cabin and homestead is memorialized and celebrated in this world renowned museum. Their struggles and triumphs form the basis of the book The Road that Led to Somewhere by Dr. Bryan E Walls (my father). To view a virtual tour of the museum click here... https://www.undergroundrailroadmuseum.org/plans-pricing My family preserved it's history and its message of unity so well that it won the adoration of Mrs. Rosa Parks, who I was graced to grow up with. She called our museum the "farm". She found solace there because its energy radiats the love and unity which bore it. She brought hundreds of bus loads of students there for countless summers teaching them Peacefull Non Violence For Change, so let's follow in those footsteps... May my family's timeless message of mutual respect and unity bring to you the hope for humanity that it brought to her, and thousands of others. This song attached is an original song and a part of our family's efforts to SHARE the message of unity and mutual respect and KEEP LOVE ALIVE... https://youtu.be/j6Z8oFZK_UQ Virtual Tour of John Freeman Walls Historic Site and Underground Railroad Museum https://www.undergroundrailroadmuseum.org/plans-pricing
