We went out early this morning and cleared a few places that had home care so they needed doing. But everything was ice. Decided to wait a bit for things to warm up and melt so we could shovel. Now we are going back out. See you soon.

Before and after. We pulled the bigger weeds and sprayed the small ones so they would die. Then we spread 2 yards of brown mulch.

How much water have you given your trees and lawn today? A healthy 100-foot-tall tree has about 200,000 leaves. A tree this size can take 11,000 gallons of water from the soil and release it into the air again, as oxygen and water vapor, in a single growing season. That’s 11,000 / 6 or 1,833 gallons a month, for one big tree. Add another tree, some grass and a few shrubs and plants and that’s a lot of water.
