It is #PetCancerAwarenessMonth this month! We love our pets just as much as we love our family, so let’s work together and do what we can to keep them happy & healthy. Keep your eyes open for some warning signs that your pet could have cancer. Some of these warning signs are: 1. Loss of appetite or difficulty eating... 2. Rapid weight loss 3. Diarrhea and/or vomiting 4. Loss of interest in playing or exercising 5. Difficulty with stool or urination, or changes in stool frequency 6. Abnormal stiffness 7. Severe lethargy 8. Unusually strong/foul odors 9. Blood coming from mouth or rectum 10. Increased thirst and urination 11. Respiratory changes 12. Abnormally firm swelling 13. Unhappy fleas can move from pets to *gasp* humans! Eek! Yep, fleas are perfectly happy to move to a human host if their animal hosts prove to be unsatisfying. Although flea bites only produce mild irritation and itching, people with insect allergies may experience swelling.... We know you don't have the time nor the desire to deal with fleas...Let's get rid of them, shall we? Fleas can hide in your carpet, bedding, and furniture. Vacuum vacuum vacuum! If that's not enough, you can sprinkle salt and/or baking soda on the carpet and let sit 24 hours before vacuuming. Make sure all of the pets in your home are treated for fleas (even if they don't appear to have any). If it gets too severe, exterminators can be brought in to spray the inside and outside of your home.
