Registration for the 2021 Leavitt Machinery Knox Mountain Hill Climb is LIVE! Please be aware we are not accepting payment at this time due to the fluid nature of regulations surrounding the pandemic. As we get closer to race day and have confirmed that the Provincial/City rules will allow us to hold the event we will reach out with payment information. Please go register if you intend to as soon as possible as it will help us get the plan to the City of Kelowna with attendance numbers. https://www.motorsportreg.com//leavitt-machinery-knox-moun
I published a similar message to this one a few weeks ago. As I’m getting more people asking now , yes we plan to run a COVID friendly hill climb this coming May long weekend. The plan is for 3 cohorts of 50. One is a volunteer cohort for our timing, official and safety teams. The other two cohorts are to allow for 25 cars each. One cohort will be event A and the other event B. Each registrant will be allowed one crew. Totalling the 50 people allowed by health regulations in ...each cohort. Cohort A will pit in the usual pit area. Cohort B will pit in the car show area. Two driver entrees will not be allowed. There will be no car show, food vendors or awards ceremony. Spectators will not be permitted. We are still waiting for more information to determine if we can allow overnighting. You will not be allowed to have any contact outside of your cohort of 50. The supplemental rules will be amended to reflect these changes. We hope to live stream the lower portion of the event on FaceBook but need to sell advertising to cover the cost. As there will be no revenue from spectators (and sponsors) the entry fee will beed to be $500. I’m sure this will generate more questions than it answered. We are in an ever changing situation with COVID restrictions. Hopefully things get better and we can ease some of these restriction. If you have questions I’ll do my best to provide you with answers. Bryan
Today I received an email enquiry about the possibility of holding a 2021 Knox Mountain Hill Climb. I thought this might be of interest to many, so below is a copy of my response. Yes, there are plans to run a 2021 event. Discussions have been held with the City of Kelowna on and a planning committee has been formed. Things are looking quite positive right now. Currently we are looking at a 50 participant maximum, without spectators and no camping allowed in the pit area. T...wo driver cars likely won’t be workable in the COVID world. There will not be any infield car show etc. We are planning to live stream so our fans can watch the race event. This will be costly, so it’s subject to revenue from sponsors and advertising. I’m sure you appreciate that with the changing COVID situation these plans are very fluid. What we are allowed will depend on the COVID restrictions that might be in place at the time of the event in May. Bryan
The following is from Irene Ken physician, whose daughter is an Assistant Professor in infectious diseases at Johns Hopkins University. It is very informative. * The virus is not a living organism, but a protein molecule (DNA) covered by a protective layer of lipid (fat), which, when absorbed by the cells of the ocular, nasal or buccal mucosa, changes their genetic code. (mutation) and convert them into aggressor and multiplier cells. * Since the virus is not a living organi...Continue reading
It is with deep regret that we have made the decision to cancel the 2020 running of the Leavitt Machinery Knox Mountain Hill Climb as a precaution due to the spread of the Covid-19 Virus. Stay safe everyone!
Annual Hill climb event at Knox Mountain - from 1988
Dear Race Fans This is a update for the Knox Mountain Hill Climb concerning the evolving situation with Covid-19 and the Province of B.C.'s advisory related to large public gatherings. The Knox Mountain Motor Sport Society is monitoring the situation daily to determine the effect the Coronavirus might have on the Knox Mountain Hill Climb. We want to be sure we can hold an event that is safe for our competitors, volunteers and spectators. ... We have been taking note of both Provincial and local directives and reviewing how they might affect the Knox Mountain Hill Climb. We are in communication with the events department of the City of Kelowna and will be bound by future decisions they make around public gatherings on city run property. At this time, planning for the 63rd annual Knox Mountain Hill Climb continues with the event scheduled to run on May 16 and 17, 2020. We wish you all the best in these difficult circumstances and encourage everyone to follow health guidelines so we can stop the spread of Coronavirus. Regards Bryan Fulton Chief Organizer

Check this out! Very cool!
Someone is going to have to help me with this stat...it’s the first time in around 30 years Brian hasn’t been at the hill on May long. I suspect it is 50 plus that it hasn’t taken place at Knox mountain. We will be back next year! Bigger and better than ever! For me it will be the first time since 2015 I haven’t raced the hill. I’m pretty sad, but looking forward to organizing next years event. Stay safe all!
