To the veterans and their families who paid the ultimate sacrifice, we will never forget. For the soldiers and their families who continue to protect us and our nation, we say thank you.

There is a significant removal of trees taking place on Walsh Street. Hydro One crews will be removing trees along Walsh Street that can grow or fall into or near the power lines and towers. Hydro One is concerned about the closeness of the trees to the high voltage lines particularly during the summer when loads are high which causes the transmission lines to sag closer to the trees. This is the line that is responsible for electrical power for all of the south side.... Hydro One is responsible for maintaining a safe distance between vegetation and power lines to keep the corridor safe for public use, keep the lights on, and to allow easy and safe access for their crews. This work ensures that Hydro One can continue to provide a supply of safe and reliable electricity to the City of Thunder Bay. The City of Thunder Bay does have the calculations for maximum sag of their transmission lines. This information will be able to identify what kind of tree species can be planted along the street as trees will be replaced.

Attention: Help Needed! There is a small group of users of the Mountdale Boat Launch who have come together to enhance this well utilized site. But they need help. They are asking for the users, and general public, to provide input as how the area should be developed and maintained. Any suggestions or comments are welcome at [email protected] The Neste Boat Launch site can be a starting off point for improved waterfront access and development on the south side of... the City. Its key location on the Kam River provides tremendous potential. Of note is its close, proximity to Fort William First Nation (and its outstanding views of Mount McKay) creates opportunities for interpretation and cultural understanding. There is so much potential for this little haven and I’m happy to be working with such a committed group of people. Please feel free to share your thoughts.
