Conservation Derby June 2013 Lake Manitoba Narrows Game and Fish Conservation Derby was a HUGE success! We had 38 kids register, and many more that were hanging out with us! Many fish were caught, lots of Jack, a few Walleye and the largest a Freshwater drum at 5.17lbs. It was a bit windy out there today, some fished on boats, with a lot of the little ones fishing on shore. We barbequed Burgers and Dogs, and had more than enough to fed the kids, the parents, helpers and e...ven a few of the other people fishing. Every kid walked away with a bag full of tackle, fishing gear, and some conservation goodies! I would like to Thank Bryan Carmichael and his crew from Ashern Conservation for all their help. Also, all the members from Lake Manitoba Narrows Game and Fish for making this all happen! It was great to see our youth enjoying the outdoors, nature and falling in love with fishing. Awesome!!
