Luther College High School is extending remote learning for students until at least May 10th, rather than returning in person on May 3rd. This decision, while not the outcome we hoped for, is simply about providing our students and employees with the safest possible learning environment given the unabated pandemic realities in our province. Making this decision today allows our faculty, staff and students to plan accordingly as we strive to maintain quality education, even ...in these less than ideal circumstances. Should the government ease Regina restrictions before May 10th, I will consider an earlier return date for on-campus learning, but only in light of what is safest and best for our students. IB exams at the end of April will continue on campus as scheduled. As well, the parent fundraiser comedian Kelly Taylor on April 24 will continue as planned online. While I know we are all heartily tired of COVID and worried about the cost to student learning and everyone’s mental health, the safety and health of our students and employees must take precedent. These are not easy times to navigate, but we can find our resolve and strength in the reminder that we persevere for our students and for each other. I am grateful for the ways you have helped us approach these difficult circumstances as a community. Wishing you all health and peace despite the uncertainties we’re encountering. Education Week provides an excellent opportunity to celebrate the achievements of all Saskatchewan students and the dedication of education professionals around the province both this week and throughout the year. This year’s theme, Connecting and Learning in New Ways, recognizes the strength and leadership schools have shown as they quickly adapted and worked together to continue to connect during this unprecedented year. We want to celebrate the extraordinary work of our ...school educators, staff and volunteers, our students and their families, Elders and education leaders. The innovation and comradery shown throughout the education community is something of which we can all be proud. #SKedweek

With the absence of inter-school competition for our sports teams, Luther intramurals was created to provide a space for students to stay active, play sports, and have fun! The first mini sports league is co-ed volleyball which runs every Friday after school until December 11. As long as we are able to participate in sports while following the guidelines for COVID-19, there will be a new sport introduced for intramurals every 4-6 weeks.
