Hello Friends, I've been getting lots of messages asking if Chiropractors are allowed to be open during the Toronto lock down. The short answer is yes...for now. This of course is subject to change if regulators decide that the Covid-19 spread is not slowing down and stricter measures are required. If you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact the clinic or email me at [email protected]. ... Online booking is still available by clicking the "Book Now" link above. Please stay safe, stay healthy, and I'll keep you updated on any service disruptions here on my page as we move through the second wave. Take care friends, Janet

Hello Friends, I wanted to give you all a quick status update. The Covid pandemic has given me some time to reflect on things. Namely what is most important to me, and how I would like my work/life balance to be going forward. Currently, my family and I are dealing with a family member who is very ill. My family needs me and I have to prioritize this going forward. With this in mind, I have made the very difficult decision to leave my practice at Balance Health Group. ... This was a very hard decision to come by and not without a lot of heartache. I will miss my east end patients at Balance, but I know that they will be in very good hands with Dr. Evelyn Bak at Balance Health Group. She is an excellent Chiropractor and I have faith that my patients who wish to continue their treatment in the east end will be in very good hands. I will continue to practice in the west end of the city at King West Village Chiropractic in the Liberty Village area. Any east end patients who wish to see me at this practice are more than welcome to do so. You may visit www.kingwestchiro.com for more details. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me at [email protected]. It will be a pleasure to hear from you. Thank you everyone for being such wonderful patients and friends. Thank you Balance Health Group for letting practice in the East end for the last 4 years. It was truly a wonderful time and I will miss my colleagues and patients terribly. And thank you all of you for your kindness and understanding during this time. Please take care of yourselves. Stay healthy. Stay safe. J

So, just before all of the Covid-19 closures and shelter in place orders began, I went to Montreal to take the Advance Cupping Techniques (ACT) course with the International Cupping Therapy Association (ICTA). Allow me to humble brag for a second, but this course means I have 40 hours of continuing education in cupping therapy and certification through ICTA. Currently I am the only ACT certified Chiropractor in Ontario (and possibly Canada? Need to double check that.) throug...h ICTA. Neat eh? So, now that things are finally opening up a bit here in Toronto, if you've ever wanted to try cupping, book an appointment or email me with questions at [email protected]. I really do love cupping as a complimentary modality to Chiropractic care and I've seen such great results with my patients. I've even had good success with treating myself when I have aches and pains (see the video below). Thanks for letting me share my success with you! As always. Stay safe! Wear your masks! Wash your hands! And see you soon!

Hello everyone. Hope you are all holding up well. Self isolation has certainly lasted longer than anticipated for most of us. More and more reports are advising it's a good idea when you do go out to wear a mask. That brings up the issue of good mask hygiene. Think of your masks like socks. You don't wear the same pair of socks over and over do you? I hope not! If you have the ways and the means, get a few masks so you always have a clean one ready. Wear them once. And launder them after each use. For more tips on fabric mask care, see the article from the Mayo Clinic below.

Hi friends! Its been a while! I hope you are all doing well. I've been getting emails and DM's from people asking us if we will be opening our clinics soon. Chiropractic and Massage Therapy clinics were not included in the Phase One stage of reopening. That means we still don't have a date yet for our return. I will be available for email and phone consultations! You can email me with any questions or concerns at [email protected] and I will do my best to get back you... ASAP. Know that your practitioners miss you too and we are taking this down time to plan our safe return to work. Hopefully that day is sooner than later! Take care and stay safe! Janet

Hello folks, Not much to say here today. Just plugging away with social isolation. The usual reminders of course to wear a mask, keep on socially distancing/physically distancing, wash your hands and stay home. We'll get through this! I thought maybe I'd just share something kind of funny today to help you get through isolation. They do say laughter is the best medicine. Take care of yourselves. Stay safe, Stay Well, Stay Home! ... J

Hello Friends, Well it looks like we're in for at least another 28 days of self isolation and working from home. To the patient's who've emailed me, it's lovely to hear from you and I'm so glad I can help you with some home care during this time. If you have questions or concerns, don't hesitate to email me at [email protected] and I'll do what I can to try and get you feeling better! For those of you working from home...chances are your starting to feel aches and pa...ins if you aren't set up properly. Below is an article on how to set up things ergonomically for your home work station. Ideally, you have the proper desk and chair...but so many people often work from the couch, their bed, the kitchen island, a dinning room table (I'm sitting on the couch as I write this so I'm just as guilty). So what do you do if you don't have a proper desk and chair (and even if you do!). 1. Get up once an hour. Set that smart phone. Move around. Staying in one spot for too long is a form of repetitive strain. Moving is important. Get up and do a little stretching and get a glass of water before you jump back into it. 2. Every time you get an email, phone call, slack message, text, check social media etc...sit up straight, drop your shoulders back and down and engage your core. You'll go back to the bad postures. But if you posture correct every time you do a frequent task like answer an email, you'll be giving those overworked muscles a bit of a break and engaging different ones...which will hopefully help you feel less achy at the end of a long day. Finally, if you can, try to employ some of these recommendations as best you can in your home office. I hope these help! Take care of yourselves and hopefully we'll see you soon! J
