Charles - today is typically one of my favorite days of the whole school year. Not just because its the last day of School but because we have achieved another milestone and successfully completed another School year. This is a day that everyone is happy, this is a day we celebrate and this is the day I anticipate everyone's return to yard to say good bye with big hugs. I am feeling many different emotions today, I can't explain it. Many years in the industry, many changes an...d accomplishments but never did I think we would be living this. What is to come for September you ask? I can honestly say I have no idea at this moment, everything is changing by the hour. With that said - I want to thank you all for your hard work and dedication. I want to thank you for your ongoing support and I want to thank you for being you! Update for Drivers. The DriveTest centres remain closed at this time and thus your license and medical are still on hold as per the MTO. Please do not be worried, as soon as the DriveTests centres open again we will begin processing medicals and renewals. Jeff

Charles - good morning everyone, a few things I wanted to mention, share and clarify. Please read through the complete post. 1-Everything stays the same until the end of the School year, meaning what you have received until now will continue. 2-If you have any changes or requests for the month of September ie; different route please notify the office. 3-The office remains open for essential workers only, closed to the public. if you have any questions please call. ... I have been getting a lot of questions concerning what September will look like and how we will proceed. Simple answer = I don't know. As things change/progress I will keep you all posted. Charles - Good afternoon all - I can confirm that everything concerning your employment is status quo - I will revise again May 29th and inform you of any changes. I have miserably failed at touching base with everyone - I have tried and my days during this time have been busier then when I am in my office. I ha...ve been able to manage those conversations and respond to questions within 24 hours or so. If you know of anyone that does not have social media please reach out and provide them with the above information. Charles - good evening, I have been in communications this afternoon and evening with members of corporate as well as Managers and lead officials. I know how frustrating the unknown is for everyone, myself included. We have been in negotiations and continue at this hour. I will have a formal announcement with the next 24 to 48 hours in regard to the next 30 days and beyond, should the School closures be extended. Understand that this situation is again extremely time consuming. In the mean time stay safe, stay positive and thank you all for you patience during these tough times.

Charles - good afternoon, the announcement was finally made official that Schools will remain closed for April 2020. With that being said I have many conference calls this afternoon to determine our direction. Please be patient I will update later on this evening.

Charles - I hope everyone is healthy and staying safe during this difficult time. Quick updates; We have lowered and are rotating our internal staff to meet Health officials recommendations and changed our bussiness hours Monday to Friday from 9am to 2pm. There is someone on sight to answer your calls during those times. ... GOVA Plus is still operational but we have had to decrease our routes by over half as the demand has decreased significantly - as it should. We remind everyone that our office are closed to the general public and all non essential visits. I have had many inquiries in regard to what happens now that the school closure is extended - first, it's not. Doug Ford alluted to this in a comment he made a few days ago but has not made a statement of change. I am expecting there to be some kind of direction in the next few days. I will keep you all informed as the matters develop further. Stay safe.

The Ontario Government has extended ALL license and Medical expiry dates until this Covid-19 Pandemic has been resolved. If you expiry in the near future do not stress, your license is still valid. All DriveTest facilities are now closed and we are asking drivers not to come in to the office for renewal testing or Medicals until the social distancing restrictions have been lifted. Jeff

Charles-As follow up 1-All transportation is cancelled until April 5th 2020 for this moment. 2-It is mandatory that all School Buses be returned to a yard on March 13th 2020 (Today) - no exceptions. Please call the office if you have a reasonable conflict. ... 3-Please clean out the garbage's and ensure the unit can be easily cleaned - all personal belonging should be removed, if anything is in the way of the sanitization process it will be discarded. 4-All Drivers/Monitors/Stand by Drivers will be payed for the 2 weeks following the March Break as per normal. 5-Starting Monday March 16th 2020 the office will be closed to the General Public and all non office employees (GOVA Plus employees are excluded). We will have office staff on hand to answer phones and also communicate route changes for the return. If you have a question or something to bring into the office I ask that you either call or wait until the April return. Again, absolutely no traffic through the office unless absolutely necessary. Please continue to monitor all social media - if the situation changes we will make announcements here and also call to inform. The Safety of our employees during this time is of the upmost importance.
