***Pre-Paid Lunches*** In order to eliminate the handling of money at school, families are encouraged to pre-pay for lunches. How does this work?... Families can send any amount of money to school (cash or cheque) and this money will be put on your childs account. When students order meals or drinks (daily or here and there) the total for that day will be taken off the account balance. When your balance gets low you will be informed so you may top up your account if you wish. In the event there is an outstanding balance at the end of the school year, you will receive that money back via cheque. Families who have more than one child in their household can have a "family account" so both children will use the same money. If you would like more information about pre-paid lunches, please give me or Stacey a call in the office. Thank you, Ms. Smyth

Lockeport Elementary 04.05.2020

Good afternoon everyone and happy Monday! Here at LES we have been working hard planning for the safe reopening of Lockeport Elementary for all students. To help with the planning, we are asking if anyone would be interested in a noon supervisor position (this includes pay for 1 hour)? We need 2 noon supervisors to help out daily from 11:45 AM-12:45 PM and also "spares" for when the regular supervisors are unable to come to the school. ... If you are interested and are able to help or you would like additional information, please call the school directly or reply to this post. Those interested will need to complete a criminal record and child abuse registry check - which can take a couple of weeks so we would like to help you complete this ASAP. Thank you! Ms. Smyth

In the past few months, our province has experienced tremendous tragedy. Its okay to feel sad or lonely. But whats not okay is to bear all of those feelings a...lone. This #MentalHealthWeek, lets #GetReal about how were doing. Lets reach out when we need it. Reach out to a loved one, a friend, a neighbour. And if you need more support, thats okay too. The provincial crisis line is also available 24/7: 1-888-429-8167. #NovaScotiaStrong

Parents/Guardians P-6 Within the next couple of weeks, your child will receive a Term 2 report card. These reports will be distributed electronically to the email provided by parents/guardians in PowerSchool. In June your child will receive a final report card with comments only that reflect the school year. No percentage grades will be included on the June report but all students who were demonstrating achievement of the outcomes, as of Mar 13, will be considered on track to... progress to the next grade level. Between now and June, all students are encouraged to engage and have the opportunity to continue to grow and succeed in their learning and teachers will continue to record evidence of learning. If you have not done so, please confirm your email with LES. Thank you!
