SWIPE To see a big FLEX! What is an Event Wrangler? It’s the person you have on-site to manage all the details/moving parts of your event. It’s the person who knows your vision, shares your passion and will work tirelessly to make your event come to life. Sometimes it’s the person who will run those last minute errands you forgot about.... Sometimes it’s the person who will make sure VIP guests are kept happy & entertained. Oftentimes, it’s the person with the event schedule and deliverables memorized. Sometimes it’s the person who reminds you to EAT! We play all these roles for your event experience. The question is, can you do without a Wrangler? 15h

I was inspired by a similarly worded post on @heylissamonet ‘s page and loved the message. Its rare we see a message like this being discussed on the socials, because these days, everyone is a CEO, the big BOSS who makes the rules for others to follow. People don’t really want to admit to being a student, still learning and serving others. If I’m honest, I never liked to be the boss or a leader. I always thought it was too much responsibility, plus I used to be very shy, so... the thought of leading others made me want to crawl into a dark hole somewhere. But as I started learning about leadership (I took a Leadership curriculum at my church @cccghq ) I began to understand that true leadership is not about puffing out your chest and telling ppl what to do. It’s really about serving, championing and helping others reach their full potential. I’ll take it a step further and really blow your mind; we can do all the Big bossing we want, But the greatest among you will be your servant [Matthew 23;11]. And you can ask Jesus about that because those are his words! So how does this relate to your business? The next time you sit down to develop your event or program, envision how you can help your event guests, attendees, and your sponsors. How can you serve them? How can you bring more value to their experience? Yes, we must consider our bottom line, profit margins and costs. But if we start with the desire to bring VALUE, with an intention to serve, to the best of your ability, you are starting from a place of humility, which is a great place to build from. What do you guys think? How do you bring value as a leader in your realm?

Happy Friday! I wanted to stop by and share a little story with ya'll. My name is Lola. I started LuLo Events many years ago as an Events student, with a very good friend (Hey Luisa!), hoping to launch a series of events in Qatar, where she was living at the time. But to be honest, we didn't give the company our full attention, nor have the full vision at that time. It wasn't until I moved to Brazil that things began to take shape. Yes, Brazil. I initially moved back in 2014,... before re-locating permanently in 2016 for the Olympic Games. There was something pulling me to the country and I was excited to build my company there. I was dedicated to build event programmes in Rio de Janeiro, while learning the language and working with @InterNations to create events for their community. It was such an amazing experience for myself... truly a time to be alive! It was probably then, that I began to develop a real passion for creating event experiences and connecting with brands, people and communities. It's a blessing to do something I truly love. I hope to connect with YOU on your next event experience, programme or festival. We are online, so feel free to connect at LuLoEvents.com or here on this app! See more

We conclude on our series on what we learned in 2020, with our final lesson: In all things, give Gratitude! . No matter what 2020 brought you, you are still here! You are still living, breathing, pivoting, thriving, impacting change, plotting on 'em, surviving and planning on a better 2021. Some of our businesses may have not survived, some of our relationships didn't make the cut. Some of our people may have lost the fight but more importantly, we are stil...l here so we can still move forward towards greater things! . One lesson we hope you learned in 2020 is to be grateful, no matter the outcome of your project, your cancelled event, your failed relationship, your health - it could be worse! We give thanks and we keep moving forward because sometimes, that's all we can do, in the moment. . Thanks for joining us on this series. #Comment one thing below that YOU learned in 2020! See more

We are BACK! After a lonnnng week that flew by, we want to resume our list of what we learned in 2020. How timely, that the 6th lesson is the Illusion of Time. Ecc 3:1 tells us that "For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven" (NLT) so we know that everything in our lives has a place, a season. But God has made everything beautiful in His own time. So why do we struggle so much with the time we are given in our lifetime, to make an impa...ct? . . This year, many of witnessed the time of others being cut short by disease, by circumstance, or by violence. It made many of us uber sensitive to the concept of time; how much do I have left? Is what am I doing right now at this moment, purposeful? Does it matter? How we view the concept of time has shaped how we lived 2020, either cooped up in our homes, or out, masked and gloved in the world. The months seemed to fly by, without anyone's permission. . How will you shape your time in 2021? What will be on your list of priorities that weren't on years before? See more

For many of us, resilience is like a shield, or a badge of honor we wear. It reminds us we can get through anything, hardship, heartbreak, stress or adversity. Many of us discover our resilience because of what life throws our way. . Its similar in business. After a year like this, many companies had to dig deep to discover their business resilience. This looks like absorbing stress, recovering critical functionality, and thriving in altered circumstances. (via@harvard_bus...iness_review) . Listen, its November. If you have made it this far, you are nearing the castle fight with Bowser at the final level of the game of 2020. So, you might as well go out smiling and cheesing, because you did it! You survived and hopefully you did it with a telltale wink, knowing that you emerged stronger than 2019 left you. ;)

Happy Monday! Number 4 on our list of what 2020 taught us, is the power of social media; its global reach and its ability to initiate change and progress. Back in May, the world watched in horror as a black man, George Floyd was murdered by a group of policemen in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The incident, caught on video by a number of bystanders, sparked outrage. It lead to months of protests, amid a pandemic and calls to the end of police brutality all over the world. The #End...SARS protests sparked last month in Nigeria, in response to ongoing police violence and misuse of power within the country. Similar protests erupted in Brazil, also exposing police brutality and the systemic murder of young black children and adults. . The Gen Z's carried many of these online "revolutions", by actively filming and exposing injustice. "Cancel culture" became rampant as customers became more aware of the power of their voice. As a result, many brands took a firm stance against injustice and racism, by firing employees who made derogatory/racist comments, changing their hiring policies and encouraging diversity. 2020 is the year the world woke up and decided we, as a people, need to do better. . . What was your biggest takeaway from the protests, injustice and uprising that took place this year? How did it impact the way you do business and interact with your audience? See more

How many of us hate to be alone? Is it a struggle for you? When COVID first shut my world down, I was in Vancouver on business and our offices made the decision to shut everything down and fly us home. I remember feeling so inconvenienced and annoyed. "This thing will blow over in a month and we will all feel silly!" Safe to say, this didn’t happen. For many of us, this was the first time we were encouraged/forced to stay home, stay away from others and be alone wit...h our thoughts. Our thoughts soon lead to the thoughts of billions of others, as most of the world turned to social media to connect during this time. But some of us fortunate ones, were able to really cherish this time and develop ourselves. Some were able to discover this Grace of solitude. One of my favourite bible verses that encompasses this practice: "Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day." 2 Corinthians 4:16 Did you have some downtime this year? What did you learn from it? What did you unlearn? #CommentBelow See more

We are excited to share a new series this month; 7 Things we learned from #2020. This year has no doubt been a challenging one, but we are grateful to have learned so many lessons that we will take forward in our business and personal lives. . First up is a lesson of perseverance, determination and strong will, lead by one's Purpose. The story of Stacey Abrams @staceyabrams, who suffered a major political defeat back in 2018, is inspiring. As she famously quipped to Vogue... magazine, she sat shiva (a Jewish expression for a period of mourning) for 10 days, then started plotting on how to fix the problem. What was her "2020"? Overcoming overwhelming voter suppression in the state of Georgia. . Thanks to Abrams and the efforts of groups like, Fair Fight, ProGeorgia, the Georgia Coalition for the People's Agenda and the New Georgia Project, over 800,000 Georgia residents were registered to vote in the 2020 election. Using your #Purpose to rise above defeat is the Real #Power move. . Look out for this series to debut on our website coming soon!. . . . . #Purpose #Relevance #Change #Power #BlackWomxn #Vote #Inclusion #Election2020 #EventProfs #Series #New #7ThingsWeLearned2020 #EventChallenges #BlackBusiness #SmallBusiness #America #Politics #StaceyAbrams #LuLoEvents #StartPlotting #Georgia #HerStory #Blackgirlmagic #Inspiration #Shiva See more
