Every minute, globally, a million plastic bottles of water are sold. Mainland has taken a significant step towards cutting the use of single use plastics in all of our facilities by providing all personnel with reusable water bottles as part of our wider environmental and sustainability plan. Each bottle also has a write-on rectangle on it so employees can sign them and by doing so avoid mistakenly picking up someone else’s bottle. The sign of the times... Navigating COVID-19 protocols is challenging for all of us. Luckily technology and innovation can provide solutions to some of the issues we face. To keep our employees and visitors safe we have just installed this temperature screening and facial recognition device in our office lobby. From now on everyone entering the office will be required to have their temperature taken and to complete a COVID-19 health check form. Our new shop and yard are great spaces to provide training for our crews! This week one of the bays has been transformed into a class room (physically distanced of course). Lincoln Living for Tannin Developments in Langley is a new townhome development for which Mainland was contracted to perform bulk and detailed excavation and shoring work. 2. Residential Development for Axiom Builders & Strand Properties - a six-storey mixed-use building in Vancouver.
