Wishing the happiest birthdays to our fearless leader, Victor Syperek!! His undying commitment to the Canadian music scene is truly something to behold! He’s always got a massive creative project on the go, and you’ve probably seen his beautiful handiwork all over Atlantic Canada! Here he is, during a short stint as the fifth Backstreet Boy! Vic’s never one to shy away from a guest spot onstage & any act would be lucky to have him on for a song or two! Have a great day Vic!! We all love ya!

"It was an arduous process for Mav Karlo to be able to play shows in the Atlantic bubble, but he stuck to his guns as well as official health protocols in order to play in every East Coast province this month. The Toronto-based artist also known as Menno Versteeg from the acclaimed and sadly disbanded Canadian indie band Hollerado comes east on the heels of his new album Strangers Like Us. He also brings with him one of the longest tour names on record, with a stop at Hal...ifax’s new Derby Showbar in the Marquee Ballroom building on Thursday night." - Stephen Cooke, The Chronicle Herald Thanks for the kind words Stephen! We're very excited for Mav Karlo (Hollerado) & Owen Meany's Batting Stance this Thursday!! Join us Saturday, October 10th at the brand new Derby Show Bar, a reno of The Marquee Ballroom space to meet Covid compliance, for one of Canada's finest musical treasures, Lennie Gallant! Saturday, October 10th The Derby ShowBar (2037 Gottingen st)... Full COVID-19 Safety Regulations in place to ensure a safe night for all. For Ticketing info call 902.233.1694 Lennie Gallant’s songs are an essential part of the cultural fabric of the Maritimes, and he is a widely respected songwriter across the country and beyond. Fans are drawn to Gallant s mastery of language and his innate ability to put the listener in the auditory sights of his remarkable gift of storytelling. A native of Rustico, a small Acadian fishing village on the north shore of Prince Edward Island, Gallant started writing and performing at an early age as part of small hall shows his parents would put on to raise money for someone in need. That empathy for others in the world found its way in to his songwriting and over the course of his 13 albums, helped forge a reputation as performer, socially conscious writer, and someone with a story to tell. Gallant has received many musical distinctions and is hailed throughout the Canadian music industry for his talent as a successful songwriter and compelling performer. He has been fortunate to see one of his releases,When We Get There, go up to the International Space Station, and his song, "Peter’s Dream" entered into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. Gallant says, It was such a tremendous honour to have my music be part of a collection that includes my musical heroes. His recently released song and video for Sequoia" from his award winning album TIME TRAVEL, pays homage to these elders of the planet and tells how they may even play a role in it’s healing. Gallant filmed the video in California last October and says Nothing could have prepared me to sing that song among these amazing trees of the Sierra Nevada at daybreak, with no one else around but my partner and cameraman. It was a deeply emotional moment. Watch Sequoia here! ---> https://youtu.be/BgpYz0G99WY Despite the fact that Gallant never forgets where he came from, he is also a bit of an adventurer and has hitchhiked across the Canada as a 17 year old, traversed the Negev desert with Bedouin tribesmen, made ocean passages on a small schooner, and played for the troops in Afghanistan to name a few of his exploits. His travels always result in songs and stories and a sense that we are all part of a global community that needs to support one another and provide care for the fragile planet.
