UPDATE: The Management Centres remain open regular hours in both Kentville and Lawrencetown. We ask that you do not come to the sites until the lockdown period ...is over unless absolutely necessary. If you choose to come to the site, masks are mandatory. Please social distance, and respect our workers to keep us and you safe! The Valley Waste office in Kentville remains closed to the public at this time. Regular collection and Spring Clean-up will proceed as planned. Thank you for your support at this time! COMMUNITY & MUNICIPALITY DEFINED I have received a few requests for clarification re confusion between municipality and community with respect to the new Provincial stay at home directions. Reached out to our REMO staff who forwarded this very helpful synopsis: For those who may have specific questions they can contact their nearest Kings County Public Health Office:... Berwick Western Kings Memorial Health Centre 121 Orchard Street Berwick, NS B0P 1E0 Canada Phone: (902) 542-6310 Or Wolfville Eastern Kings Memorial Community Health Centre 23 Earnscliffe Avenue Wolfville, NS B4P 1X4 Canada Phone: (902) 542-6310 2021-04-28 Dr Strang NS Govt Webcast: So many people have asked us to define what we mean when we say stay in our community. Your community is where you access essential or necessary services or products like food, gas, and medication. For the purposes of testing and vaccination, you can consider community more broadly, as the closest place to home you can access these important health care services. So try to book as close to your home as possible, but if you need to go to the next town or city to access a testing or vaccination appointment, you can do that Travel for ‘essential services’ (gas, food) if not immediately available within your local community is permitted as well as travelling for work or medical, legal appointments Golfing at your nearest golf course is permitted but driving up to Cape Breton to go golfing is not allowed All Nova Scotians need to minimize their contacts and travels Thanks Dan Stovel
