This is a common mistake that drivers make: Just because there isn't a marked crosswalk, doesn't mean that there isn't a crosswalk. Pedestrians have the right of way at intersections, and if a driver hits one in an unmarked crosswalk, they are still at fault for the accident.

Be aware of cyclists on your way home. I deal with many motor vehicle accidents where people are hurt in the vehicle they drive, but the injuries can be much more severe when they are hurt riding a bicycle or motorcycle. https://www.cbc.ca//cyclist-vehicle-collision-injuries-her
