Miramichi Dragway Update After the total loss of the 2020 racing season due to COVID-19 restrictions, I hope everyone got all their home projects completed, because, barring any major turnaround with COVID, there will be racing in 2021 at Miramichi Dragway. Of course we don’t know exactly how things will look come spring, and they may look a little different, or need to be done a little differently, but I am working on a plan to be open when May arrives. The 2021 Season Sche...dule will be as follows: May 15-16 Season Opener High School Challenge + TnT May 22-23 1st Points Race with TD/TS series June 5-6 2nd Points Race with TD/TS series July 15-18 NHRA PC Richard National Open with ADRA August 14-15 4th Points Race with S/SS double header and TD/TS series rain date if needed August 21-22 Sport Compact Weekend Sept 11-12 Fall Brawl October 2-3 5th Points Race with ADRA, TD/TS series and Pro tree series October 9-10 BOC I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported the track during these difficult times. With costs still being incurred, and no racing, your support has helped immensely. To each and every person that got involved in the No Race/Race fundraisers organized by Tony & Michelle, THANK YOU. To those that made private donations, THANK YOU. To those that have paid for their pit spots even with no prospect of racing, THANK YOU. The support has been overwhelming and is greatly appreciated. Hey gang, our 2020 Cluster*& NO RACE, RACE SERIES is going to get back underway here next weekend. This is in support of Miramichi Dragway and will be runoff ...using results from the LODRS IN CHANDLER ARIZONA on Oct.10 & 11 weekend. As before, on the racer side of things, everyone will be battling for an 2021 Miramichi Dragway Gold Card. 2nd will take home an electric trailer jack Courtesy of JP's After Hours Autobody and 3rd gets $50 Sobeys gift card courtesy of the Fahies. (Paul and Mike) On the spectator side the winner receives $250 Canadian Tire Gift Card (Courtesy of Todd and Tracy Chase). Our series points champion will get themselves $1000 credit at DWA AUTOMOTIVE along with the runner-up receiving a 40 slot bolt bin stocked courtesy of Atlantic Racing Product Draws. Spectator side of things looks like this, points champ will receive $400 cash and runner-up $100 cash. Our Greenfield Dragway race had incredible support so let's show Miramichi Dragway just as much love.... Thank You P.S. ATTENTION-COVID-19 UPDATE Track Management have been watching the Covid-19 situation unfold. With the addition of the Atlantic travel bubble, it may have appeared that racing could easily start. Unfortunately, that is not as easy as it may appear on the surface. There are still many hurdles to overcome the restrictions imposed by the Province: Full written Operational plans need to be prepared. Constant sanitizing of the facility (which includes portable washrooms)... COVID-19 signage needs to be in place. Distancing measures need to be monitored and enforced. PPE is needed where distancing cannot be maintained, which needs to be monitored and enforced. The name and contact information of every person entering the facility needs to be recorded (including a plan to ensure no person enters unpaid EX sneeks in) All these items will require cash outlay and extra staff to implement. Other items to consider: Safety and well being of our staff, racer base and spectators. There is still significant expense to setup since the outbreak occurred prior to spring start-up. Potential significant fines if any of the above provincial guidelines are not met. Potential liability if an outbreak of COVID-19 was linked to Miramichi Dragway. Insurance. Facility maintenance. Many racers/spectators may have been impacted financially by COVID-19 or may not be comfortable attending. Travel delays have been experienced entering/exiting the Province. The facility is already in the red for 2020, as there are still fixed operating costs to be paid out, and zero revenue. Possible second wave, revert to harsher restrictions. Weather. With these things in mind, as well as the uncertainty of the future, the difficult decision has been made to cancel the remainder 2020 season schedule. We ask that everyone please try to think beyond their own disappointment and understand this was an extremely difficult decision to make, but ultimately, it is the best decision for the long-term survival of the facility. COVID-19 UPDATE Track management regrets to inform the racing community that the PC Richard NHRA National Open, scheduled for July 24/25th, has been cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions. We are continuing to closely monitor the situation in order to assess what the remainder of the season may bring. With governments talking about the possibility of an Atlantic travel bubble, we are still hopeful that we may be able to offer a modified schedule if/when that happens. There wi...ll be challenges that need to be addressed in doing so, both logistically and financially. Details will be posted as more information becomes available. Management at Miramichi Dragway has made the decision to cancel June 2020 events including TNT TUESDAYS due to Covid-19. I’m getting a lot of messages, calls, texts from all over about the race season. At this point we are monitoring what’s allowed and not. We are also monitoring what’s happening elsewhere in Canada and USA. We can’t wait to get to the track and get some racing done and see our racing families again like all of you. ... Our main focus right now is for our racers, fans, sponsors and staff to stay safe and healthy. Please share this post!!!

Adrénaline Rush

First of all, Miramichi Dragway would like to thank every front line workers in these scary hard times. Also thank you to everyone that’s respecting our government guide lines in staying isolated as much as possible. We will beat this sooner or later. I’ve been getting texts, messages, calls, and emails about the upcoming season. I really hope that we will get some racing done in 2020. I just don’t have the answer on when. Miramichi Dragway will follow government guidelines ...for our amazing sport we all love, DRAG RACING. Unfortunately, events scheduled for the month of May 2020 will be cancelled due to Covid-19 outbreak. There won’t be a High School Challenge this year. If we do get to race later in the season, I will be in contact with HS teams on a possible test weekend in early October. Also our 1st points meet is a scratch for this year. I will be posting info about fuel orders in days to come. Please stay safe and share this post.
