The family of 20-year-old Schuyler Bierkos are hoping this will lead to new tips in his disappearance. Schuyler Rys Bierkos, 20, was last seen at his home on 15th Avenue southeast Calgary on Sunday, February 24th, 2013. In a statement released by his family says his disappearance has been a ‘waking nightmare’:... We miss him terribly. Anyone who has experienced the disappearance of a loved one knows the weight of suspense, the dread as one goes through the ‘what ifs’ and worse case scenarios. Where is he? Is he safe and sound? Has someone hurt him? Does he need help? This is nothing short of heartbreaking. His family describes him as gentle in nature with a ‘wicked sense of humour.’ In the statement, they ask anyone with information to come forward: If you have seen or heard anything, if you know something that could assist us, we BEG you to contact police. Please imagine how it would feel for the person you love more than anyone in this world to disappear without a trace and to not know if they are safe. The family goes on to thank everyone for their unbelievable support and kindness. Since his disappearance, Bierkos has not accessed his bank accounts or his social media accounts, which had been his main form of communication. He was also an avid gamer but his gaming profiles have also not been used since he went missing. Bierkos has been known to travel to Vancouver and Vancouver Island and also has connections in Edmonton and Sylvan Lake. He is described as Caucasian, approximately 165 lbs., 6’3 tall, with a slim build, blond hair and blue eyes. He has acne scars on his face and usually has a beard.
