Thank you Nick Paparella for sharing the importance of this fundraising effort to prepare our Nurse Practitioner’s clinic for a much anticipated reopening. We so look forward to working with Julie (retired Nurse Practitioner from Addiction Services Thames Valley) and we know she will have a tremendous impact in the lives of marginalized women in our community. Donation Update: Dear Friends - we are now accepting donations again. With limited space and limited staff resources we are asking that donations arrive Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 1-4. Please come to our back gate area and call the Welcome Desk 519-679-9570 x 5000. (You may want to pack a lunch, this is going to be a long post!) We have partnered in a new program that gets participants in out of the cold while we help them to look for permanent housing options. We a...re very excited about this but it means our staff are stretched further! We also need to be super specific about what we are able to accept right now. We are very full of warm clothing items. THANK YOU to everyone who stepped up and so generously donated layering pieces, coats, scarves and hats etc. Pressing needs: Gift Cards $10 (any grocery chain, Dollarama, Walmart, Giant Tiger, Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall) Bus Tickets (adult) Warm gloves / mittens (men and women) Warm winter boots (men and women) Warm socks (men and women) Deodorant (men and women) Shampoo Conditioner Razors Backpacks Personal wipes hair brushes / combs Sudoku books Puzzle books Pencil crayons Lip balm $5 Tim Horton's gift cards Hot paws/ hot pockets Wallets (men) Journals / small note books Just a friendly reminder that at the start of Covid-19 we welcomed our London Coffee House family (men and women) to join us in our space -- where we could serve everyone in the safest possible way. You are always very generous in giving to the women of My Sisters' Place and this year we will be assembling some gifts for the guys for the holidays. The above listed items will be very helpful to make sure no one is left behind. Monetary donations help to keep the doors open and the lights on. A considerable portion of our operating budget comes from you -- generously donating because you believe in the work we do. To make a monetary donation to My Sisters' Place please use this link: https://cmhamiddlesex.ca/donate-now-my-sisters-place/ Still have questions or need to make specific donation arrangements? Please email us [email protected] Finally -- THANK YOU! We couldn't do the work we do without your support. We are so grateful.

Pssst... we heard a rumour about half price wings... It's Tuesday and that might just be a good enough reason to treat yourself! Please consider ordering a great meal from our friends over at Palasad SocialBowl. Great food, you're supporting a local restaurant AND, they are in turn giving back to our community. When you order, use the MSP code and for every purchase over $25, they will donate $10 to My Sisters' Place. Incredibly generous.

Friends: Due to the overwhelming generosity of our community we are full...full...FULL! If you can help please send us a quick email: [email protected] We anticipate opening back up to receive donations at the start of December. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We just want to express our sincere appreciation to our kitchen staff who consistently knock it outta the park with hearty, delicious meals. There are lots of contributing factors to our nutrition program. Generous community members donating snacks, items harvested from their gardens or larger items like bags of root vegetables that were purchased on sale. We are also really grateful to the Food Hub where we pick up produce that would otherwise have been discarded. The Lond...on Food Coalition Inc. is doing great work and helping to feed a lot of people in our city. We’re also grateful for community partners like Ark Aid who never hesitate to call us when they have a surplus of something to share. Like most of what we do, there are many hands and many hearts involved. Thank you to our kitchen, the heart of our home for the care you put into the beautiful meals we serve.

Our beloved ‘Costco Tom’ surprised us with a Thanksgiving gift. Normally Tom would drive several hours to spend Thanksgiving with family. This year because of Covid-19 he didn’t make the drive to one of the ‘forbidden zones’ and the money he would normally spend in gas was spent to provide snacks and fresh fruit for the 200 or so participants who visit My Sisters’ Place daily. Thanks Tom for always thinking of us and for being so generous.

My Sisters' Place 22.07.2020

We’d like to give a big shout out to our friend Katharine who recently did some Tender Tootsie outlet shopping and purchased some new winter boots for the women at My Sisters’ Place. Katharine works at Fanshawe College and has organized basic needs donation drives for us in non-Covid-19 times too. Thanks for always thinking of us Katharine, and for thinking of ways to help. Friends like you make our community a better place.... (and Happy Birthday!) See more

Here's a throwback to simpler times (a pre-Covid-19 Thanksgiving). Things are not the way any of us would like them to be right now -- but together we'll get through this. We have always been inspired by the women of My Sisters' Place. Daily we witness incredible resilience, strength and the power of sisterhood -- having each other's backs. We are grateful to you for your friendship and support and thank you for continuing to believe in us.
