Ego gets you injured. . . . Alignment wants to make sure you can keep your practice going for the years to come. .... . . Ego looks better on Instagram posts. . . . Alignment is true yoga. . . . Always choose alignment. Ego driven practice is fine until it isn’t. You don’t always get injured the first time. Ego doesn’t listen to your temple of a body. It uses hypermobility and bad biomechanics as it’s crutch to get your body to perform movements it doesn’t want to. . . . I’ve been guilty of ego. I have used my hyperflexibility in yoga and thought yoga came naturally to me for years until being hit by some proper education. Posted @withregram @dremilyfreistatter My TOP diet recommendation for EVERYONE is to have at least 50% of every meal/snack be vegetables or fruit. I love this rule because it applies to ALL eating styles. You don’t have to be plant-based to follow it. I don’t always achieve it, but I think I do more often than not. And definitely did today at lunch with our giant salads and veg-heavy pizza leftovers.... Hips, gluts and core: strength and flexibility based mini yoga sequence, in honour of all the yoga based hip work I’ve been doing with patients over virtual treatments. ( Also spot how flat my feet are!) . . . .... This pandemic is teaching us many things, but as a chiropractor I’ve seen patients have to take the active component of their treatment more seriously. In no way do I negate the help of passive therapy when patients are in acute pain and I am, much like my colleagues, deeply missing treating and seeing my patients in person. However, I am also beyond proud of my patients as I get to see them full heartedly commit to their rehab with grace. . . . . I hope once life and busy schedules return to normal, the one lesson we could learn and not forget would be that: . . physical rehabilitation is the most important part of recovery. . . Right movement is the answer to our musculoskeletal pain. . .We can/should play a big part in our body’s healing. See more

How do you start your day? Every so often I like to start mine with this metabolism boosting goodness of a concoction. I’ve decided for a 5 day challenge for myself to keep going with this habit. Feel free to join in! It is great detox tea as in it aids in digestion, kick starts metabolism( aids in weight loss), boosts immune system,decreases inflammation(this for me helps with acne, good for any inflammatory aches and pains).... To make it bring 3 cups of water to boil grate some fresh ginger, 1 cinnamon stick (or tbsp cinnamon powder), dash of black pepper, 1 tsp of turmeric. Let it simmer for 5 minutes. Add 1/4 cup of lemon juice and 1 tbsp of honey(optional).
