Our Virtual House Call series kicks off Tuesday, January 26 at 2:00pm with a talk focused on Mental Health! Just in time for #BellLetsTalkDay, this session will feature panelists from Northumberland Hills Hospital’s Community Mental Health Team, including: Jennifer Cox, NHH Integrated Director of Mental Health Susan Behan, Social Worker with NHH Mental Health Engagement and Response Team (MHeart) Alicia Serio, Nurse Practitioner with NHH Community Mental Health Servic...es Panelists will provide insight into a typical day for a mental health worker, share tips and tricks for managing your mental health, and update the audience on the difference donor support has made in increasing access to front line mental health services in our community. This #ThirdPartyThursday, we want to send a shout-out to Boston Pizza's Stand Up to Breast Cancer event! In past year's, Boston Pizza has hosted a comedy show and silent auction during #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth to raise funds for the Clay and Elaine Elliott Women's Health Centre at Northumberland Hills Hospital. The event brought women together each year and highlighted the importance of a caring support system, and supportive community. Thank you to Boston Pizza for standing up for this important cause! Meet Rick Miller, Chair of our Governance & Nominations Committee and a Director on our Board since 2016. Rick gives his time and expertise to the Foundation as a way to honour his mom, who was a Registered Nurse and night supervisor at Hamilton General Hospital when he was growing up. He always wondered how she could manage a household of six children and still give so much compassion to strangers at the hospital. While ‘shadowing’ his mom on one of her shifts, he remembers ...being overwhelmed with empathy and great respect as he watched her and her colleagues in action. Rick sees NHH as one of the most valuable assets to our community, and believes that sooner or later, each of us will count on the hospital to care for a loved one or ourselves. He wants to continue to assist in the important work of raising funds to make sure our community hospital has the best medical team supported by the best equipment. In honour of World Mental Health Day, some of the team members from NHH’s Community Mental Health Services and Rebound Youth and Child Services have shared an important message below, highlighting both local and virtual mental health support services available

Local artist, Charles Funnell, dropped by with a cheque for more than $2000 in support of Northumberland Hills Hospital, which was raised through his unique fundraiser, A Heartfelt Thanks. Charles started this fundraiser as a way to say thanks and show support for essential workers on the frontlines in our community and we want to send a big thank you to him and the supporters of this fundraiser for helping to #MAKECAREBETTER

Thank you to all those who made a donation in September in memory of a loved one or friend. Your support will honour their memory and help ensure patients at Northumberland Hills Hospital continue to have access to quality care close to home

As #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, this would be the time of year Curves Punch Out Breast Cancer event would usually be running We wanted to focus this week's #ThirdPartyThursday on saying thank you to Debbie Smith, an important member of the community and a fundraising champion who recently passed away From 2012 - 2019, Debbie hosted this event and raised significant funds in support of The Clay & Elaine Elliott Women's Health Centre at Northumberland Hills Hospital... This year, members of her Curves gym came together to purchase a tile honouring Debbie in Bill's Garden and to make a donation in her memory. Debbie will be missed by both the Curves family and the community as a whole. Thank you, Debbie, for all you did to help #MAKECAREBETTER

She shares that she is both in awe of what our Board accomplishes and of the amazing people who give their time to it.
