Let us share a wonderful tip from our Guest Services Supervisor, Natalie Hickey. Guests love to explore the rugged natural beauty of our local area. Why not take a short 10 minute drive from Oceanstone to hike Polly’s Cove? Departing Oceanstone, turn right on Hwy 333 towards Peggy’s Cove. Drive 6 km and you will see a dirt pull-in on the right side with space for several vehicles. A rough dirt road extends towards the ocean from the parking area, and about 300 metres from... there is a trail on the right that leads to Polly’s Cove. There is a great view of Peggy’s Cove and the lighthouse on your right. If you choose to stay on the main path, you will come to an interesting old foundation, the remnants of an abandoned house. From here, you can hike rough trails along the coast to either the left or the right. The left trail descends steeply to the ocean. Go around the base of a large granite slab and continue along the shore to find a natural granite amphitheatre. Alternatively, you can take one of several paths that lead from both sides of the entry road up to the cliffs that overlook the ocean. Enjoy ! photo credit @sarah.v.allen
