With Winter tire season around the corner and tire and wheel changes happening I wanted to throw out some info on Wheel Alignments. With the potential investment of $500+ for a new set of tires and for the minimal cost of an Alignment that can protect that investment from premature or uneven wear......why not ? WHEEL ALIGNMENT - ... Alignment assures your tires meet the road at the proper angle, your wheels are pointing straight and your tires are centered in the wheel wells. It adjusts the angles of your vehicle's wheels to original specs. best gas mileage, proper road contact, a smooth ride, and assist with longer tire life. Interval : Typically, it is recommended to get your wheels aligned every 2 to 3 years. However, to ensure the optimal safety of your car, yourself and others around you, it is best to opt for a wheel alignment every time you go to change your oil and/or the tires. Especially with the conditions of our roads in New Brunswick, one bad pothole can throw out your vehicles alignment. Give Art and his team a call today at 506-847-9500 to prebook your winter tires and add an Alignment for that extra comfort that your winter tires will carry you for as many seasons as possible. Financing options are available so please do not hesitate to ask !!!

SEPTEMBER PROMOTION !!!! REASONS for requiring FREE BRAKE SYSTEM CHECK; Brake pads, brake rotors, brake calipers and most other brake parts are all normal wear items and require routine checks to make sure the stopping power of your vehicle is working effectively.... Also, as brake fluid ages and becomes contaminated with small particles, the boiling point of the fluid goes down. We will use a test strip and check the moisture content in your Brake fluid. As your ABS and traction control systems activate, they generate heat, which further breaks down the fluid. Anti-lock braking (ABS) and traction control components are sensitive to moisture and small particulates from contaminated fluid. All these things individually or combined can lead to braking issues such as decreased stopping distance and possible caliper malfunction or even total brake failure. Give Art and his team a call at 506-847-9500 and schedule in your BRAKE SYSTEM CHECK or any other routine maintenance items we can help you with. Or stop in and see us at 174 Millenium Drive in Quispamsis. Visit our website at https://www.oktire.com/stores/ok-tire-quispamsis/

COOLANT SYSTEM DRAIN AND FILL Coolant or antifreeze, keeps your radiator cool, as you might expect. Car engines run hot, especially in warm weather, and without something to dissipate the excessive heat generated by the engine, your car can overheat and fail very quickly. Over time, your radiator coolant can cause radiator corrosion, generating rust, scaling or other debris that you do not want in your car’s radiator or engine. A coolant flush resolves this prob...lem it’s basically a blood transfusion for your cooling system. Other benefits to flushing your radiator can include removing the rust and scaling that has built up on the radiator as a result of the old coolant, as well as lubricating and lengthening the life of your water pump. Intervals: The old antifreeze/coolant is removed from your radiator and replaced with new antifreeze/coolant as per your vehicle manufacturer's recommendations.

Here at OK TIRE - QUISPAMSIS we strive to create a trusting, educational and comfortable experience when you enter our location. Frequently, we will be posting some educational info on routine maintenance we recommend to get you through to the 2 year inspection intervals now implemented in New Brunswick. Proper maintenance within that 2 year period will cut down on potentially larger expenses come inspection time. TRANSMISSION FLUID SERVICE ... Hard use such as frequent stop-and-go city driving, hauling heavy loads and trailer towing will accelerate the deterioration of your transmission fluid. That kind of driving raises the transmission’s operating temperature, and heat puts more strain on the transmission and the fluid. Cleans varnish deposits within the transmission and suspends those deposits in the old fluid for easy removal during the transmission service. Letting your car run low on transmission fluid can cause the transmission to shift improperly or not at all. It also can harm the internal parts of your transmission, which will not be properly lubricated. Changing the fluid at the correct intervals can help prevent premature wear and damage to the transmission. Signs and Symptoms Your Vehicle Needs A Transmission Fluid Change: #1 Burning smell inside and/or outside your vehicle #2 Leaking fluid #3 Check Engine light on dashboard is on #4 Grinding or shaking when changing gears #5 Delay in vehicle movement when trying to accelerate (the engine revs, but the vehicle only gains speed slowly) #6 Rough or harsh shifts Interval: In our opinion, an automatic transmission fluid and filter change should be performed every 80,000 -100,000km. Default is always the car manufacturer recommendation if it be done more frequently. Note that this is a mileage-based change interval, not time-based. Any questions please free to call Art and his team at 506-847-9500 or visit our website at https://www.oktire.com/stores/ok-tire-quispamsis/ and/or email us at [email protected]
