Trails at the Open Hearth Park in Sydney are now open after dusk as lights for the pathways are now in operation again. Earlier in January the trails were closed after dusk due to safety concerns. A temporary repair has been installed to allow the lights to come back on and staff are sourcing a permanent fix to ensure the long-term integrity of the system.

As a result of recent electrical outages, we have suffered some damage to our electrical infrastructure in Open Hearth Park. The necessary equipment has been ordered and our supplier has told us it will take at least a week to come in. As a result of this situation we will have to close all of our trails in Open Hearth Park at dusk daily, until further notice. There is no lighting on our trails and/or associated infrastructure therefore we do not consider it safe to utilize the park after dark during these conditions.

DUE TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS, NOVA SCOTIA LANDS WILL NOT BE HOSTING THE GREAT PUMPKIN TRAIL.

Our playground is now open, however we are asking all patrons to observe the COVID 19 public health directions. We are allowing a maximum of 50 people at any given time in our playground/splashpad area. Patrons are expected to observe social distancing guidelines for all people outside of your family bubble. Our washroom facilities will remain closed until we are able to install the necessary equipment to meet the Public Health Directives for public washrooms. We expect this to occur within a week, as we are sourcing the necessary supplies.

Santa in the Park was held at Harbourside Place due to the rainy weather on Saturday.

Due to the heavy rain coming today, Santa in the Park will be moving to Harbourside Place at 45 Wabana Court (Rose colored building located in Harbourside Commercial Park) off of SPAR Road. Time remains the same. Sorry for the inconvenience and hope to see you all there. Please share with your friends and family. Thank you.

Carolers from Riverview High School will be joining us at Santa in the Park. We welcome them and many thanks for helping us kick off the Christmas Season.

HEY ALL, DON'T FORGET TO COME SEE SANTA IN THE PARK ON DECEMBER 14TH FROM 1 PM TO 3 PM. NOVA SCOTIA LANDS' STAFF WILL BE AT THE CONCESSION BUILDING WITH SOME HOT CHOCOLATE AND COOKIES.

Don't forget our Great Pumpkin Trail next week, Oct 29th. Pumpkins and/or Displays drop off is between 12 noon and 5 pm on the day of the Event. The Pumpkin Trail begins at 6 pm with free yummy hot chocolate from Tim Hortons and delicious cookies from Horizon Achievement Centre.
