Are you interested in becoming a volunteer? The Grey Bruce Pregnancy Centre needs your help! We support women in our community who use our services.... We empower women to make informed choices. We provide ongoing compassion and support regardless of clients choices. Duties include -meeting with clients for appointments, pregnancy tests, -counselling and follow up appointments, -helping with donations and assisting clients in our clothing room. -fundraising, reception, and administration duties. We provide full training for volunteers. Time commitment 3-4 hours per week. Opportunities also available to join our Board of Directors! We are halfway through our first annual "Virtual" Baby Bottle Campaign! Here are some some things you may not know about the Grey Bruce Pregnancy Centre. Fact Sheet ... The Grey Bruce Pregnancy Centre provides a very important service in our community to women, men and families who find themselves facing a family crisis or unplanned pregnancy. Founded in 1998, the centre is operated by an interdenominational group of Christian volunteers, 3 part time staff members and is governed by a Board of Directors. The rapid growth in demand for the Centre's services over the past 22 years has been allowed primarily because of church community funding. This has occurred through our annual Baby Bottle Campaign administered by the faith community and private-corporate donations. We currently have 3 part time staff, 11 volunteers, and a board of directors. In 2019 we had 97 new clients, 33 babies born to clients, and 814 client visits. Services offered- pregnancy testing, parenting education, childbirth education, healthy relationship support, childbirth support and education, material supplies such as strollers, cribs, car seats, playpens etc, maternity clothing, clothing, baby clothes up to 6x, diapers, formula, friendship support, friendship groups, sexual integrity, and more. As we run a Virtual Baby Bottle Campaign for the first time, we appreciate your support and prayers. We are so grateful for each person, family and business that makes the work we do possible! Thank you for your support! During this time of covid, we are providing our clients with supplies by arranging no contact pickups and talking with them over the phone. Over the past week, we have had to make some adjustments here at the centre. The decision to close was a difficult one, knowing how people in our community depend on our resources & support. However, we are checking our voicemail daily.... We are still here for you! If you need any of supplies, please leave a message and we will arrange a time for you to pick up at our back door! We are still able to provide necessities like diapers, wipes & formula! We would also love to chat, and will return your call!
