We've been waiting for this moment for a long time. And it's finally here!! We're excited to announce that we're now able to welcome visitors back into our residences. Starting today, PARC will be allowing scheduled in-suite family visits, as well as outdoor visits at residents' family homes. All visits must continue to follow health and safety protocols around mask wearing and physical distancing, and require participants to have received their first vaccine dose at least t...wo weeks prior. Get ready for the biggest, happiest smiles you've seen in a long time. #covid19 #retirementcommunity #seniorconnection
Living alone and feeling isolated is not uncommon among seniors especially during this ongoing pandemic. But loneliness and #isolation come with severe risks: Lower cognitive functioning Higher blood pressure... Higher incidence of strokes! Conversely, living in an environment where social connections flourish reduces the risk of early death by 50%. Here's some more insight into the effects of social isolation and how #IndependentLiving offers a safe and healthy alternative.
May 10-16th is National Nursing Week, a time to celebrate our healthcare professionals and all that they do for us here at PARC. The theme this year is #WeAnswerTheCall and was developed by the Canadian Nurses Association to showcase the many roles that nurses play in a patient’s health care journey. The pandemic brought to light the courage and commitment that nurses work under every day and showcased the important role that nurses play in our PARC community. ... As a token of our appreciation, we have crafted handmade care packages full of plants, candles, and other goodies for our Wellness Nurses. One thing our residents here at Cedar Springs enjoy is homemade desserts. Chef De Partie Christophe prepared an Austrian style Apple Strudel. The dough had to be stretched by hand (a thickness you could read a paper through!).
