Have you thought of Jesus as the One who collects and carries away trash? Taking out the trash is the title for the meditation on John’s good news as we pursue our theme, How to make sense of a world falling apart. We invite you to join Parkwood Church for worship, online, at 10 a.m. local Ottawa time today, February 6th. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/zd92Kamyx1Q
So many heroes and others who once commanded public esteem have come to be disrespected and even trashed. Who is really worth our praise and honour? We invite you to join us as we explore the theme, Not worthy as part of our continuing series How to make sense of a world falling apart, based on John’s gospel. Here is the link to the livestream, scheduled for 10 a.m. today, Sunday, January 30th, local Ottawa time: https://youtu.be/IsGLeOb3BjE

Not the full hymn, but a great clip...
Pastor James' brother Scott and his wife Beth have been living in Singapore for a few years, where they have been associated with Adam Road Presbyterian Church. Scott is a techie and a musician. He produced this beautiful music video with 11 vocalists, 55 music tracks and many hours of production time. Enjoy!

Reminder: On October 4 we will be including a communion service as part of our online worship. In preparation for this, we invite you in advance to obtain and set aside on a small table a plate or dish on which you can place a piece of bread, bun, or biscuit. If you are alone, the piece may be small; if you worship as a family or household, large enough to break into pieces such that each one participating may have a small piece. Similarly, we invite you to have on hand a small glass or cup filled with grape juice; again, if you are two or more together, have sufficient glasses or cups so that each may have one. We encourage you if necessary to acquire the items and prepare them ahead of the beginning of the worship service.

MISSION APPEAL... The Mission Team has announced and invites the congregation to support a special appeal to provide emergency relief for the people of Lebanon following the devastating explosion in Beirut earlier this summer. The explosion and fire in the port area caused significant loss of life, injury, loss of homes, and damage to grain storage and milling facilities, which puts the surviving population at risk of starvation. Presbyterian World Service and Development is... a partner with the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, which is one of the credible agencies through which the government of Canada has chosen to channel food aid in ensuring that help gets to those who need it most. The government of Canada has announced that gifts from Canadians through August 24th will be matched on a one-to-one basis, to a total of two million dollars. Gifts may be made through regular offering envelopes, marked PWSD - Lebanon Relief, and delivered to the church.
All are invited to join us online for worship today. Here is the link to the livestream, which is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.: https://youtu.be/ddf_7PH0eAg. See comments for a link to the bulletin for today's service.
