PEI Association for Newcomers to Canada is seeking expressions of interest from people who would like to serve on the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors provides governance and financial oversight for the operations of the Association and, with advice from the Executive Director, develops appropriate policies. The commitment for each Director is a monthly meeting from September to June. Meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of each of those months from 4:00 ...to 5:30 PM. Presently, the meetings are held via the Internet. Occasionally, there is committee work that involves additional meetings. The term of office is for three years with a possibility for re-election. Anyone who has immigrated to Canada and made PEI their new home within the past five years is eligible to submit any category of writing (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, writing for children and young adults, plays, and scriptwriting) for consideration.
