A brand new blog post today... sharing with you one of our family's Christmas traditions. Every year we read a Christmas story together each evening. Our collection of books are "wrapped" in fabric, each in its own zippered bag. In this post, I share with you the books currently in our Christmas Book Advent basket... and how to make the zippered bags for all the books.

~ Really Super Important Customer Service Announcement ~ This is a long one, but bear with me please. For the last 2 weeks or so, our home internet connection has been dying a slow and painful death. It's gotten to the point now that significant delays are happening when it comes to responding to posts, messages, and emails. I'm SO sorry about this! We live in a very rural area which is serviced only by a small local telephone company, and our internet is currently provid...ed by DSL through our phone line. That line (the actual line, the one from telephone pole to telephone pole and then through the ground into our house) is old and failing. We are on a waiting list to join the 21st century as soon as fiberoptic cable becomes available... which, the latest word being, should happen some time in January or February. In the meantime, we can only wait. As the connection worsens with the changing weather, we're experiencing completely random connection and dropout rates. Some days, we're lucky to get a solid hour or half-hour of connection, followed by nothing but 10-30 second connections throughout the rest of the day. Just enough time to know I have a message or email, but often not enough time to respond to it without getting "network failure". I'm trying my best, and prioritizing as much as I can when the connection is holding. Our local library offers free wifi, and I'll use that when I can in order to not fall too far behind, but that's only possible a few days a week. The internet is only available through my laptop computer here at home... no cell phone with unlimited data, and in fact no cell phone at all for this girl (yet another shocking revelation proving that I'm truly not living in this century). PLEASE be patient with me in getting back to any and all posts and messages. Seeing and hearing from those of you who have sewn something new from a Pollywoggles pattern is one of my very favorite things to see and respond to; and being sure to get back to someone that has a question or difficulty accessing a purchase in a timely manner has always been a top priority. It's going to be a very tense time, waiting to see if our connection will improve once the ground is solidly frozen (the wet freeze/thaw we have right now may be a contributing factor in the poor service we have right now) and anticipating the replacement of our existing phone line with fiberoptic cable. XO, from Heidi... and I'll get back to all messages and emails as soon as I can! <3
