Today we celebrate the amazing Dr. Laura Sevick who just graduated on May 8! Laura isn’t on the front lines just yet but will be when she starts her residency in Edmonton in July. Since the pandemic started, Laura has been volunteering in childcare for healthcare workers and contact tracing for public health. She is looking forward to getting back on the front lines for her residency in obstetrics and gynecology in Edmonton. Congratulations to the beautiful, kind, and very intelligent, Dr. Laura! And thank you for all your work helping keep us all safe!
Here’s our next flashback Colleen Kehler is a Certified Music Therapist working with a company called 'Side by Side Music Therapy' currently offering remote services for young kids and seniors in supportive living. During the pandemic, Colleen started Sharing a Song for all ages and a special channel for kids too! Check her out on YouTube for your daily song of cheer - thank you Colleen for supporting all of us during this time Those who remember this talented dancer will also recall her fantastic rhythm and connection with the music https://youtu.be/mWD-R9PCEkY

Kicking it ‘old school’ on the PSID facebook page! I’ve been watching with gratitude the postings of former Irish dancers who are health care workers now on the front lines of the Covid pandemic. Here is one of our own Kirsten Smith, a Registered Nurse (RN) at East Kootenay Regional Hospital working on the Medical Unit. Thank you Kirsten for your work in fighting this pandemic! (And you manage to still look beautiful under that mask and goggles!) Whatever Happened To...? And, let’s find out what you’ve been up to did you used to dance at PSID? Let’s wake up some fun memories and spread some joy! PM me a photo and brief description of what you’re up to these days we’d love to hear from you! I’ll post someone from our past every few days see how many former dancers you remember ! Take care all - xx
To our alumni families - do you have any time to volunteer over the March 4 / 5 weekend? We would love to see you at the feis! :)
Are you a former Possak School student who remembers wearing one of these costumes? We are purging some or our larger-sized class costumes and have several of each of these types of costumes available to former students! In the past, families have turned them into pillows or placed sections into shadow boxes - there are lots of ideas for using them as keepsakes. If you are interested please contact Linda via e-mail, PM me or post. Do the gabardine costumes take anyone back to Ottawa or San Diego ? And what about the velvets ? Nashville and our first 8-hand U-11? What a special team that was too - :)
