New(to)Town Collective's ONLINE Training Jams is our attempt to capture the essence of experimental play that occur in the studio that command human connection. New(to)Town Collective’s intention is to engage beyond the screens to catalyze a conscious re-connection to the body and the psyche. Training Jams are collaborative, interdisciplinary, and experimental workshops produced by N(t)TC. They are opportunities to cross pollinate training, practices, and ideas between artists of various disciplines as well as non-artists. We like to think of Training Jams as experimental art 'labs' where you can explore and experiment with your own curiosities free of pressures of having to necessarily create 'product'. Shades of Sustainability and Amplify Vancouver welcome everyone to attend Our Stories, Our Futures, Our Voices, an online event for youth (18-30 years old) to share and reflect on what a joyful, equitable, and sustainable future can look like. This event is a part of the ‘Our Stories, Our Futures’ project, a collaboration between Shades of Sustainability and Amplify Vancouver. The intention of this project is to hold space for Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) b...etween the ages of 18-30 to re-imagine our futures and center hope, during an incredibly uncertain time. The resulting 14 stories, soon to be published online, reflect the hopes and visions that BIPOC youth, residing on the lands we call "Metro Vancouver", have for a future filled with new ways of being that are grounded in histories, traditions, and ancestral knowledge. This online event builds on that storytelling series and aims to hold a space for storytelling, engagement and relationship-building for all youth. This online event will provide space to discuss and reflect on important topics and themes from the published ‘Our Stories, Our Futures’ submissions, as well as provide an opportunity to collectively re-imagine futures as a community.
