Blizzard conditions in parts of Labrador today are making for a dangerous situation on the roads, so residents are advised to avoid travel as much as possible. Some parts of the Big Land are experiencing heavy snow and poor visibility. By downloading the NL 511 app or visiting nl511.ca you stay up to date on highway conditions, weather information and highway camera images.
I send my deepest sympathies to the friends and family of William Barbour, long-time president of the Labrador Inuit Association, and member of the Nunatsiavut Assembly. He held an unwavering commitment in ensuring the rights of Labrador Inuit were protected. His legacy lives on.
This is province-wide preventative medicine. Temporary changes to the Atlantic Bubble are intended to help avoid a full lockdown in Newfoundland and Labrador, as we are seeing elsewhere. For more: www.gov.nl.ca/releases/2020/exec/1123n04/
I have known former Supreme Court Justice O’Regan and his family for many years. He was a kind man who loved his family and the province as a whole. As a pillar of the province’s legal community, he was a mentor to many. Sending my deepest sympathies to the O’Regan family. To honour his life and legacy, flags have been lowered to half-mast at Confederation Building in St. John’s.
I recognize some people are asking about Point of Entry testing, but as Dr. Fitzgerald has said many times, it's not an effective solution to controlling the spread of COVID-19. Point of Entry testing can create a false sense of security, so our time and resources are better suited on more reliable methods.
It's so important for everyone to follow the health guidelines put in place.
Today, I join the province’s sporting community as we mourn the loss of Mr. Carl Lake - a beloved umpire and sporting advocate. I’d like to offer my deepest condolences to his wife Debby, his family and friends.
Effective 12:01am NDT, on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, travellers entering Newfoundland and Labrador from within the #AtlanticBubble will be required to self-isolate for 14 days. Read the full news release here: bit.ly/2UVUoJY

It’s one more example of our commitment to supporting Newfoundlanders and Labradorians in living active, healthy lifestyles for their physical and mental well-being.
