A visionary leader who transformed the lives of those around him, Gerry died due to complications with Crohn's disease on December 9, 2018 while travelling in India, where he was opening an orphanage to provide a home and safe refuge for children in need. He was hardworking and passionate, with an unwavering commitment to his customers, employees, and family. Through his hard work and dedication, Gerry contributed greatly to the growth and development of the Crypto Currency industry. As an expert in digital finance, he was involved with digital payments, currency, and transfers of electronic value for over a decade. In his capacity as CEO, he shared his passion and expertise in digital finance with his management team to successfully grow QuadrigaCX into one of the largest exchange platforms for Crypto Currency in Canada. We are very proud of all that Gerry has accomplished, and are confident that the leadership team at QuadrigaCX will carry on this important work in a manner consistent with Gerry's vision and values. It is in this spirit that we announce that Aaron Matthews, the current Head of Operations, is being recommended by Gerry's Estate Executor to assume the role of interim President and CEO. Aaron has been a steadfast and positive influence on the leadership and growth of the Company. His proven leadership, coupled with his deep understanding of the industry, positions him well to carry on the important business of QuadrigaCX. We are confident in his ability to ensure continued and successful operations, as QuadrigaCX provides its customers with an easy to use platform that simplifies the process of buying and selling Crypto Currencies. This isn't the update that everyone wants but we do have both good and bad news though. First the good news, BMO has released the funds. However the bad news is that they have released bank drafts back to us as they refused to accept the funds. Currently we are having Billerfy endorse the drafts to our company, this will allow our lawyer to have the funds cashed into a specific bank account that has been created for our company.... It's likely the drafts will be endorsed and deposited on Monday as we received them from BMO today. All backlogged amounts have been successfully queued with our processors to be completed as soon as we have the funds in place. Sadly though, with this latest setback, it will likely be two weeks before we are able to commence these settlements. Small payments are still going out daily and we are working as fast as possible to clear the backlog. We truly appreciate your patience and will continue to keep you in the loop regardless of the news to share.

Yesterday, our team waited for confirmation that all the queued payments have been processed but there is yet another delay. Mid-afternoon, BMO, the bank where the drafts were deposited, told us that the money was being held a bit longer for its compliance department to give the go-ahead. Our lawyers were quickly on the case and forwarded all the necessary paperwork to prove the money was coming from the court and should be released immediately. Today we learnt that the compl...iance department will give its verdict by the end of the week. While this is a major stepback, it clearly shows the amount of effort the banks are putting into preventing small firms to conduct business in the crypto-space. Our team is still working through the late payments and we would like to remind you to send a support ticket with the withdrawal information you were expecting (check https://www.quadrigacx.com/history#withdrawals) only if you have not already done so. If you have been advised that your payment is on our priority payments list than there is no need to send in further tickets until our next update. We appreciate your patience as we continue to work tirelessly to get this situation resolved.

For the past few days, we have been busy cross-referencing the payment processors queues to recreate a list of late payments. A massive batch of them has been sent to Billerfy for processing as soon as they have the money - which is scheduled to be tomorrow, January 8th. If you have already sent a ticket with missing payments, it has likely been included within that batch so please do not send again until the end of the week. You need to allow at least 3 to 4 business days fr...om the time it is sent for it to reach your account. From the 10th of January, providing the 2 other drafts clear on time, we will start processing pending payments as well as more late payments. If after 7 business days from tomorrow, you still haven't received your withdrawal, please submit a ticket and highlight the missing payment(s) so we can investigate.

The Constantinople Fork is a non contentious hard fork to improve the Ethereum network. There's nothing you need to do as we are taking care of all technicalities. Fundings and withdrawals will be paused roughly 100 blocks from block 7,080,000 and 100 blocks after just to ensure everything goes smoothly.

First and foremost we would like to wish you a Happy New Year 2019! Things have been quiet for the past few days mainly due to the holiday season, however we have some more info about the CIBC money. The court gave Billerfy 3 bank drafts on the 24th of December - 1 for $6.5M and 2 for $9.5M. The first draft was deposited in the bank on the same day but has been put on hold for a few days because of the amount. The 2 other drafts were added between Christmas and New Year. Upon... contacting the bank, clearer deadlines have been put forward as seen in the attached picture. We have already queued up about $6M worth of pending withdrawals and they will start going out as soon as the money is released by the bank. We are also catching up on payments marked as complete and will be pushing a big chunk of them from the 10th of January. In the meantime, several withdrawals have been sent out throughout the festive period. We are really sorry this has taken so long and we believed that having the money released from the court would have been straight-forward. We sincerely apologise for the issues so close to Christmas but we hope to end the year 2018 on a positive note.

We have been in contact with our lawyers again today and they told us they are still waiting for the other parties' lawyers to confirm when the funds have been transferred. Once that transfer is done, another one will be executed to send the money owed to QuadrigaCX into a central account which can then be sent to different payment processors. In terms of numbers, we cannot disclose any amounts but we are going to have more than enough to completely clear the pending withdraw...als list as well as the missing withdrawals. If your payment is marked as pending, it will be sent as soon as the money is released to us (or shortly after, give it a few days to reach the payment processor). If your withdrawal is marked as completed, we will go through each of our payment processors and check whether it has been queued for transfer or has been sent and act accordingly. We will bring you more information tomorrow even if it's nothing much.

We would like to share with you an update we received from the lawyer dealing with the situation on our side: "The Superior Court of Justice has approved the payment of funds out of court. There will be some delay before the funds are available to be paid to QCX and can be used to fund withdrawals. First the court must process the order, then, according to the terms of the order, the funds go first to QCX’s payment processor, and from there to QCX. As soon as the funds have ...been received by QCX, it will provide an update. We appreciate your patience as these delays are beyond the control of QCX, and are unavoidable."
