An account to follow: The Ocean Cleanup "The Ocean Cleanup is a non-profit organization developing and scaling technologies to rid the oceans of plastic. To achieve this objective, we have to work on a combination of closing the source and cleaning up what has already accumulated in the ocean and doesn’t go away by itself." The Ocean Cleanup website has a plastic-tracker so you can see where plastic 'may' end up if it's not disposed of properly.... In an ideal world, ocean clean up's wouldn't need to exist. We're proud to work in community with businesses who are working to eliminate plastic-waste: . Club Coffee > Work to reduce plastic waste in the hot beverage industry through recyclable PUR Pods and Boardio technology (packaging made from sustainably sourced paperboard). Club Coffee truly have their finger-on-the-pulse when it comes to sustainable innovation. We can't wait to see where 2022 takes them! Mixed commodities of plastic and metal razor heads mostly never get recycled. Because of this, 2 BILLION plastic, disposable razors end up in landfill every year. Rockwell Razors are working to combat this: by providing consumers with a metal safety razor. The razor itself is a high-quality metal. It's durable and designed to last. Replacement blades come wrapped in recyclable paper wrap, all of which is fully recyclable. Most wound-care solutions are made from single-use plastic. It's estimated that the average American family buys one box per annum > that's a lot of single use plastics! PATCH Strips offer a natural, 100% compostable, bamboo fibre wound dressing. From the materials and packaging, to the 20,000+ trees planted to offset carbon, everything is considered when Patch Strips brand, Nutricare, create.

It's Family Day weekend here in Ontario. We're encouraging you to get outdoors this weekend (even if it's for a 30 minute stroll around the block). We are in midst of an indoor generation- a generation run on smart phones, Netflix, and staying inside all day. According to the World Economic Forum: Teens devote an average of 7.5 hours a day to digital media of all kinds.... And in 2021 the average American spent 13 hours and 12 minutes per day on media (watching TV, on a laptop, on social media or reading a newspaper) - emarketer.com. Not only does the isolation of life inside present an enormous emotional struggle to maintain one’s mental health, but too much time inside, and not nearly enough time spent outdoors, has serious effects on your physical health too. It also has a negative effect on our motivation to protect nature, as it becomes out of sight out of mind. It’s important to understand the ways in which we can keep our mental and physical health in shape. Vitamin N (nature) has been proven to be significantly beneficial to your health. The Green Team have compiled a blog post with some methods you can use to foster a better relationship with nature, leading to a healthier lifestyle. https://raog.ca/10-ways-to-reconnect-with-nature/

Fast-fashion refers to cheap, mass-produced clothing, leaving the environment to suffer. The fast processes used in the fashion industry require cheap unnatural materials produced via poor agriculture practices, toxic chemicals and synthetic fabrics. In fact, the fashion industry is the second largest polluter of the worlds clean water sources. ... Polyester and other man-made acrylic fabrics are made from non-renewable crude oil, causing these fabrics to shed micro plastics. Plus, they become almost impossible to dispose of. The speed at which garments are produced also means that more and more clothes are disposed of by consumers, creating a huge amount of textile waste. The good news is that because we all need to wear clothes, we have the power to create change by making different choices about the garments we wear and buy and there are lots of easy options for side-stepping fast fashion and not contributing to the demand. By shopping second-hand, swapping clothes with friends, shopping sustainable and ethical, slow-fashion brands, and remembering to shop your wardrobe to find clothes to wear, you can help curb the damage from fast fashion. Support brands, like Mini-Cycle, that specialize in the circular economy for fashion. Mini-Cycle offers new and preloved clothes 0 to 10 years old and guarantees to buy back everything once the kids outgrow their clothes. Let's steer away from FAST FASHION industries that encourage waste Check them out! https://mini-cycle.com/
