Councillor Rawlson King introduced a motion at City Council on October 28, 2020 which was successfully carried, condeming recent instances of Anti East-Asian Racism.

The Ontario Government has announced that it is implementing additional temporary public health measures in Ottawa that will be effective Saturday, October 10 for 28 days. The provincial government is also taking further steps to support small business whose operations will be restricted over this period by making $300 million available to assist affected businesses with fixed costs, including property taxes and utility bills.

Cut a ribbon last week to open the new Ashbury College Centre of Science and Innovation and to celebrate the creation of a financial assistance program to help more students study sciences regardless of means!

Honouring more than 150,000 Indigenous survivors of residential schools on #OrangeShirtDay2020 with Linda Grussani. Most survivors were forbidden to speak their language and practice their own culture.

Councillor Rawlson King held a virtual town hall for the African, Black and Caribbean communities on September 26, 2020. Presenters included Greg Fergus MP, Councillor Diane Deans and City of Ottawa Anti-Racism Specialist Yursa Osman.
